do you believe in HEAVEN & HELL?? If so, do you think eating meat would send you to hell because you are killing something just for your tastes? I mean there's a huge ton of vegetables out there, so itss not really a necessity...which means ppl are just killing animals for their tastes right? Isn't that a sin then?

with all the religious views aside, think of it this way:
i'm pretty sure half of you have pets and you treat them like your kids, family whatever, BUT you don't realize that meat also comes from an animal and is prob. just good enough to be your pet?? i mean your pet is an animal & so is your FOOD! you have a face & so does your FOOD! that's just plain wrong....may be not from a religious point of view but from a HUMANITY point of view. i mean we are not in the dark ages anymore in response to someone's reply below.

People will doubtlessly answer this with the proverbial "God gave us dominion over the animals" stuff, but dominion is different than tyranny. I mean, Queen Elizabeth has dominion over her subjects, but she's not barbecuing them or making boots out of them. And what we do to the animals surpasses tyranny. If there is a god of some sort, we are all creatures that were created to coexist, and what gives us the right to kill and eat someone else, just because we can?

I believe Christians will state how Jesus made all meats, fowl and fish okay, upsetting the Old Testament dietary laws. But, quite a few Christians will still avoid pork as unclean. Most Americans believe Muslims fear pork will send them to hell. They don't know what they're talking about. I discussed the subject in Saudi. Yes they avoid pork as much as possible. But pork is used for insulin and they will use that though prefer the horse serum. And in something like a starvation, they will very reluctantly eat it. Islamic policy on that is if Allah didn't want to provide the nurishment from pork, He would provide something else.
No! I think that goes to something away from dietary approval, maybe even a sin. But not worthy of sending to hell. But there could be a small sect or few believers in there that would say it does.
I know 7th Day Adventists avoid meat. I think their sole reason a healthy life style and believe Adam&Ece were vegetarians.
But again, I'm an athiest. My statements may be Satanically inspired. So don't trust me! Do a little looking and I'm sure you'll find some verifiable information. I try to give real and factual info without insults though.

I don't know why that is, your guess is as good as mine. No i don't want to watch it either. No i don't do that and i have no idea what you mean by 'you people'. No i think most people are perfectly capable of using the internet. You can use it well enough to get here and post. google stuff? thats not actually a question, its just two words. No, I don't know what you have seen and haven't seen before. Im sure that if people want to 'meet' they will go ahead and meet, yes your quite right. Meeting has nothing to do with meat though... at least not in every situation. Send links to hell? there is internet access in hell? how old are you? dont you have some more pressing things to be concerened about? like homework or chores?

That sort of reasoning is from the dark ages!
You are more concerned possibly with the creature who hasn't a soul than the survival of us humans in this life and the ultimate purpose for the reason animals were created to be under the dominion of man. That means for herding sheep, plowing fields, beasts of burden, modes of travel, milk for their families and for making cheese, and so much more.
You wouldn't let your animals (domesticated or not) take over would you? No, you have to have dominion over them. There were no vegetarians in the Bible. Read it. From the very beginning there were herbs, fruits, and of course the animals for their skins to make clothing and a host of other necessary things to live by. Vegetarians lack nutritional substances that are only found in meat if I recall correctly. You definitely must be from the city and out of touch with real life for most of the world. No, mankind couldn't have survived without eating what God provided for us to eat and I like most of it although I'm not fond of too much seafood. This is such an unfounded bizarre unreasonable question it hardly deserves an answer but I will consider that maybe you are young and impressionable and someone is feeding you lies therefore I have taken the time to tell you the truth. Eating meat is the reason mankind has survived until now and never was a sin except for pork at one time. The first animal sacrificed both clothed Adam and Eve and the blood atoned for their sins committed. Thank God for steaks and for someone else to raise and butcher them!

No, in the old testament, there were list of clean & unclean animals. So it's not a "sin" to eat animals.
If you think it's immoral that's a different story, morals don't come from the bible.
I think it's selfish to be buried (why waste land for that when trees & animals could live there).
As far as eating animals, I do think it's necessary for nutrition.
I tried being a vegan (it didn't turn out to be a very healthy lifestyle).

Paul said in the bible that are foods are created of God and are to be eaten. He said not to join people who were at a meal offering their food to idols.
There are doctors who say the bible says not to eat pork, nor the sea creatures that hover the sea floor. I never eat those foods anyway so I don't concern myself about it.
Get a concordance and research the bible about foods if it is worrying you; that way for your own peace of mind.
Jesus never said we would perish for eating certain foods.

No, don't know (killing for your tastes is wrong), yes, no.
In the Bible, God prefers Cain's bloody animal sacrifices over Abel's harvested vegetables.

Nope. It is not a sin. By the way, one of the torments of Hell is meatless dinners. Tremble and obey, ye sinners doomed to an eternity of tofu!

God makes the rules. He tells us in Scripture (the Bible) what is right and wrong and therefore what is sin.
Eating meat is not mentioned as a sin.
