A proposal is as unique as the girl. It also depends on your budget. If you have lots of money, you could do sky writing or something dramatic. If you are spending all your money on the ring, then I'd do something more creative. Here are some examples:
(1) set up a treasure hunt with clues... have the "prize" be something simple, like a teddy bear or something that she likes or collects... but inside (or on it) put the ring.
(2) Give her a single rose in her favorite color (red is very traditional) with a ring inside.
Now, if SHE is particular and wants to pick out the ring...you can STILL surprise her... give her a coupon book that you made up (make it look really nice) and have "tasks" that you will do such as "wash car" or "go grocery shopping" or other things you know SHE does regularlly... and one of them should be "be devoted husband til death do us part" and make sure you have a "shop for one engagement ring" and "book wedding site" and "plan fabulous honeymoon" in there... So, start off boring and mundane and then end with those... and sit with her and read each one. Then, she really won't expect it.
Bottom line, the gal wants a story to tell all her friends and children when you guys have them. So, think about what is important to HER and then focus on how you are going to devote yourself selfLESSly to being the best guy she could ever have.

Set up a long night of silly hunting for clues that will bring her to special places to the both of you. With each place give her a new letter or write things you love about her. At the last spot tell her to turn around and have it writen it in a special way. She will love all the thought you put into it. She will be able to keep all the things from the night. Good Luck!!!!

The fact that you are proposing marriage to her should be unique and mind boggling enough. Be explicit. "Will you marry me?" is good. Just add "I love you." in front of it and you're perfect. A ring is a nice touch. Flowers are always good.

The question really isn't what changes - It's the atmosphere you set to ask it. Think of something you both love/enjoy and use it. If you guys are big adrenaline junkies then do it while jumping out of a plane. If you guys love diving then do it underwater. Do it while you doing something that will remind her why you are the best person for her to spend the rest of her life with.

I think you should do what they did in this movie i saw ! Say a poem or something take a string and tie it to something and then slide the ring down the string and it will land right on her finger !! very romantic !
Or
You could also take her to her favorite restaurant etc ...and just pop the question with a poem ..put it in with a poem or something !

OKKKKK, are you seriously ready for this:))))) Two Options!
Make sure it's the summer or fall, you have that gorgeous rock, some fireworks, plenty of her favorite flowers, champagne, and your two favorite couples songs ready. Now, you've got to decide whether to Invite all the family and close friends over for a cook out with volleyball, criket, etc. or to a great restaurant?.
If it's the cook out then plan with everybody to help. Ask one or two to bring alot of her flowers and champagne in their trunk while you have fireworks ready for launch behind the shed and both songs ready to play sequentially. Once everyone is done eating then leave for the bathroom to dress in a nice suit and once dressed then you call her friend to take your future wife into the bedroom to help with her something special whatever. Once they go into the bedroom then out comes the flowers to place around the deck and backyard while holding the champagne behind their back, and you get the first song ready to play. They come out and sit down so you start playing the first song while you walk to her. You kneel down while handing her the big flowers with one hand then reach out with the BIG rock in the other while you tell her your speech. Hopefully KABOOM and POP the champagne while the second song is playing for your celebration dance lol:)!
Now, if it's the great restaurant then I"D HEAVILY recommend either Joe's Crab Shack or Tumbleweed downtown so have a friend to light off the fireworks (may need a permit) while all are on the deck to enjoy the city nightline and water. Make sure the staff has your BIG flowers and knows to place her favorite flowers on each table along with having both songs sequentially to play over the speakers and plenty of champagne ready to bring out. Eat the dinner then excuse yourself to the bathroom to dress in your suit while making the call to the restaurant staff to bring those BIG flowers to you while they're readying the first song over the speakers. You come out while the first song is playing and do your speech. Once she says YES, then hold her til the next song is ready to play then ask her for your celebration dance while having a beautiful skyline to enjoy:).

Well the way my hubby did it was on our last night of our beach vacation, he got down on one knee and looked me in the eyes and said this .. we have been through 5 years together, I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone but you. alot of women not matter how much they deny it want to hear those words .....well my husband proposed to me while he was singing "you aint woman enough to take my man" at karaoke one night ....he pulled me on the dance floor sat me on a chair and got on his knee and in the middle of the song on the mic asked me """will you marry me katherine""".....of course i cried and said yes and that was 12 years ago and he still gets on his knee and asks me today lol while singing of course....he got on the mic at a dennys rest. one night and sang me a rod stewart song ....we are both 42 now so i wish you all the blessings in the world for a happy ending here
