ABSTINENCE refers only to refraining from the physical act of sex.

PURITY involves both physical AND moral purity. This encompasses not only abstaining from intercourse before marriage, but also abstaining from sexual thoughts (lust), sexual touching, pornography, and actions that are known to lead to sexual arousal.

TRUE LOVE WAITS is a well-known sexual PURITY movement.

btw: a PROMISE ring is usually a gift given from a male to female (or vice-versa) as a promise to stay true only to that person. it is usually given if the couple isn't ready for engagement, but wants to demonstrate their commitment to one another.

Well I have a feeling the idea of the rings are the same, but abstinence are purity are not the same thing. Abstinence, as you know is not having sex till marriage, but just because you are abstinent does not mean you are pure... purity is a matter of the heart, you have to be set aside for God's purpose..

Well Ole Baby B, sounds like you have a bit of a rebellious streak in you that you should get checked out. Not all people feel like you do.

This is where your promise should be. First, between you and God, then for your future spouse, the lastly as a way to honor your parents.

Not that they don't matter but you will only be with them for a few more years if you are a teen. I want my kids learning to be people with convictions of their own. Not for me but for their God and for themselves.

I would think purity would carry a broader definition but define it as you will. It is your vow and no one else's.

Purity ring appears to mean that you must keep your hymen intact but can have oral or anal sex but with an abstinence ring you can't have anything

The abstinence ring gives a better excuse for anal.
