The first thing to firmly establish is that the question of purpose of life requires God.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century mathematician, philosopher and Nobel Laureate)

Mindless evolution most certainly cannot grant purpose any more than a rain cloud gives purpose to a raindrop.

All answers, no matter how good they sound, are not referring to purpose unless they refer to God. They are just things to do to keep us focused on happy thoughts and to keep us too busy to think about a purposeless existence.

So without God, there is no purpose whatsoever.

But if God does exist, it must be that He must have put our great need for purpose into our human nature to get us to seek Him. So our sole purpose is to seek the sole Giver of purpose.

I believe we are here to live the best possible life we can, following the Bible's teachings as best we can, being nice to each other, and trying to make the world a better place for our being in it for whatever time we are allotted.
Life is short, so live for the moment, cherish your loved ones, and be an example to those around you.
