It is great of you to buy a gift for him and to put some thot into it. Good on you ! Many times pple buy gifts out of obligation and it SHOWS !!
Since it is someone dear to you and you prob know him for some time, think of his likes, his favourites. Think of the times he talks abt himself and his interests. Make a list of all the things you can remember. His fave colour, movie, book, magazine, game, etc.. Then go thru the list and put things together and then make a decision ,in you humble opinion, of course. You may wish to ask other family members , but only if they swear under oath that it will be a shushed-up affair. ; - ))
Whatever you buy(or make) for him, I know it is going to be great and he will love you for it - if only just for the thot and effort !
Also, remember the gift does not need to be fancy, expensive or trendy ! If it is from the heart, it will be cherished,
