Why is this ok? I don't think it's right to call any military soldier that, no matter what he thinks. I have a friend in Iraq right now and I think it's disrespectful.

I am boycotting Rush Limbaugh the drug addict!

I thought it was disgusting. But then....I don't understand why people don't get upset with all of his hate mongering. He spews his hate toward Blacks, teachers, Mexicans, gays, women, environmentalists, intellectuals, liberals, union workers, Arabs, French, scientists, and anyone else who disagrees with him.

The specific soldier in question had joined the military, but had been sent home from training after only three weeks, but was claiming the title of veteran.

According to the Veterans of Foreign Wars association, and the VA, to be a veteran you must have at least 30 days of active duty. By those two definitions, which are as official as you can possibly get when it comes to such things, he was infact a "phony" soldier.

I can understand why people don't like Rush Limbaugh. I get sick of him quite often.

But there have been cases of "phony" soldiers, the most glaring was Jesse MacBeth. MacBeth became a hero to some for making a YouTube video claiming he was an Army ranger and witnessed atrocites committed in Iraq by American troops. In reality, MacBeth was discharged in bootcamp after six weeks.

BTW. I have been considered a "phony soldier" by a classmate in college. An undergrad was made snide comments to him, not actually calling me a "phony". In truth, I am not a soldier, I am a sailor. It does not bug me, I doubt he ever was a soldier/sailor/airman/Marine: his hair is too long, he has a scraggly beard, and he way too fat.

I am sorry, but phony soldiers? I have yet to meet a phony soldier even though I was in the Air Force. And another thing, Rush who?

Whatever you personally think of Rush Limbaugh is totally irrelevant to this question. If you get the FACTS of this post correctly, you will realize that Limbaugh was justified in calling that guy (Jesse Macbeth) a phony soldier.

Lets just not fly off in anger over a quote until we find out the context in which it was made!

Look the pillhead was referring to Jesse Macbeth, some guy who didn't even make it through army basic, and claimed to have witnessed atrocities in Iraq. He was never in country and was proped up by anti war socialists as a hero for speaking out.

He was phony, people like mediamatters and move on have to invent facts then smear people who call them out!

The Pillhead does not attack service members who disagree with the policy, but does attack those who falsely claim to have served in combat and make up lies about it in order to undermine the U.S. and give aid and comfort to the enemy!

the only time I know that he did this was when the person he was talking about was a phony soldier.

The guy was a person who claimed to have served in iraq when speaking at a anti war function. He was supposed to be a Vet against the war. He made all kinds of claims about abuse happening in Iraq.

It was later found out that this guy washed out of Army bootcamp 3 weeks in and had never served in Iraq.

So in that case he was right to call the guy a phony soldier

Rush Limbaugh is nothing but a big bag of wind. He spouts off at the mouth with no brain to back him up. At the same time he is guaranteed the right to freedom of speech. Guess who fought for the ol windbags freedom? All those "phony" soldiers.
