No, I agree with you--you definitely shouldn't hate them or anyone else who disagrees with you. They are not your enemy. Keep caring and keep praying. Just continue to treat them with genuine respect and everything will probably be fine in your interactions.

You say very little about your relationship with the Creator.
So I have a suggestion... get to know what God wants of you, submit to His authority, and He will reveal to you whether or not prayer is in order for Atheists or anyone else for that matter.
While we are basically a prideful people, that desire to have that direct connection to the Almighty has a tendency to make us look down our nose at other belief systems.
God can be very subtle... One of His favorite things to do is to use imperfect people to accomplish His perfect will.
In your walk with the Lord, don't be surprised if He uses an Atheist to teach you a lesson... to help you break a stronghold and get you to the next spiritual plane.
If God feels saving (conversion) of all Athiest are necessary, it will happen... but happen on His timetable, not ours... just pray that you will be His instrument when it is time...
And to answer your 1st question: "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment, And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself .' ".

I am athiest. But want all Christians know that Mormons are praying for you, like it or not, they belive you're going to their heaven which will be their own planet ruled by yoyr family's patriarch. They even did so for St. Francis of Assissi who was a matryr to his Catholic faith. That is also the reason Mormons are so interested in genealogy and every member supposed to trace their family back 6 generations.
So, Christians. How does that feel with the shoe on the other foot?
I happen to be athiest. So, I am no authority. But ask any Mormon. They wont hold back from you on this topic other than saying you have the choice of accepting or rejecting the salvation they pray for.

Yes not only athiest that we should pray for. Everybody regardless of cultural and religious backgrounds. Every intelligent person knows that Evolution is the main a theist religion, as even claimed by authoritative evolutionists. If man only knows to humble himself by self-realization that no matter what he do to eliminate "death" which is the main end of his being a sinner, that he needs a Savior to escape the coming judgement of the "Lord's Day" of Revelation, and this is always what we pray and should pray for the lost.

I'm speaking more (but certainly not exclusively) to the Christians on this board, so thanks for bearing with me.
Some have said that Christians are afraid atheists might be right. Well, I would MUCH rather atheists were right and Christians wrong than vice versa, for obvious reasons. If you're atheist and reading this, you can attack me and call me all the vicious names you want, and I won't deprive you of your right to free speech. But this is MY belief, I'm not making anyone agree with me.
The hardest thing to do is to remember that atheists/non-Christians aren't the ones that we should be fighting. I believe the devil is making THEM afraid Christians might be right. As Paul said, "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."1
Again, that's just me. I am NOT making you agree.
Many atheists think we are trying to force our beliefs down your throats. I'm terribly sorry to admit that in some "Christian" circles, that's true. Well, you just met a Christian that isn't like that. I believe the Bible when it says, "Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will."2
Many that call themselves Christians and "Bible-believers" would do well to read this passage, because too many (i.e., Fred Phelps, King-James-Onlyists) are completely ignoring it. To those who loathe Christians for the above reason, I apologize profoundly on their behalf. They need prayer more than atheists, in my opinion.

Yes, I love and pray for atheists. They need it more than just about anyone else I can think of. You're absolutely right, we mustn't hate them (or anyone else). We should always show them kindness and respect, even when they make fun of us.
It's very important for us to bring atheists before God in prayer.
Thank you for the wise words. God bless you!

I love them too! But sometimes "some" of them shows hate and can be disrespectful and insulting! Just like some of us believers need to learn how to talk to them better including me!

Yes, I do care and I do pray for them. Sometimes I like to get to know someone before reaching out to them, try and understand where they are coming from. But, yes, I do pray.
