It'd take care of both over crowding and the bs high cost of execution. They could even post a few volunteer guards with sub-machine guns in case any of them try to get out of the cell. Either way, problem solved. Your thoughts?

Rather than put them in a cell for them to kill each other, put them in Iraq and in this war and have them kill over there and send home the military men and women to spend the holidays with their families.

Why don't we just walk by with a gun and shoot each one in the head. Less messy than letting them "go at it" with each other.

And who cares about the law anyways. Might as well take that right away from them. While were at it, if we go around and shoot all the homeless people, that would solve the homeless problem in the US. Next we can tackle everyone without a job and watch the unemployment rate plummet.

Great idea, let's start it up right away.

I don't see how your question is any more intelligent. Also, not quite sure if you get the fact that I'm making fun of how stupid your question was in the first place as opposed to actually bringing up ideas of my own that I think we should do.

This question has been debated before and it is unintelligent. Our country was founded on granting it's citizens rights, this includes the ones who have broken the law. Laws have changed over time due to the cruel and inhumane way things were done in the past.

Also, I don't think that the over crowding of our prisons is a result of death row inmates. Actually I'm pretty sure that they make up a very small percentage of the total prison population.

So the point I'm making is, if you were being serious, than your idea is fairly unintelligent. If you were attempting humor, then I guess you're just not as funny as you think you are.

I see that not too many Christians are on here today...I thought they were all of the "eye for an eye" mentality..
Killing is wrong anytime but I fail to see how letting people sit in jail for years and years can ever compensate for the wrongs they have caused. Not my idea of justice. I would have to think really hard about how I felt..

George Carlin had a similar idea except it involved all prisoners being locked up in square state and allowed to do whatever to each other. He was going to sell it as a pay-per-view event.

"Cruel and unusual punishment. Totally uncivilized. It's sad that we have to have prisons at all, but since we do, we need to keep them as humane as possible."

Blathering idiocy! Crime is high because of dummies who think like the above answerer. Yeah, um let's save one life and let him be happy and watch while he kills a dozen innocent people. That's peaceful, isn't it?

What is it with brain-dead people like him? If there is hardcore evidence, such as DNA, ect, just shoot them and make it quick. Cruel and unusual? I think murder and rape is cruel and unusual, not justice.

Yeah, just ship em to a Aleutian island, put up a big fence and let them go at it. Like Carlin said, put some cameras on the fences and you have got a kick *** reality tv show.

Hee hee -- don't ask their lawyers!

Wanna kill two birds with one stone? Put it on Pay-Per-View, sell DVDs, and pay off the national debt (if you're feeling especially altruistic).

Oh wait, we shoulda done that with Saddam's hanging.

Yes, I'm feeling snarky tonight.

--EDIT-- Ummm . . . there's sarcasm involved here, good thing a few of us caught it.

What if DNA evidence could prove the innocence of a few? What if you were one of those people?
