Yes, I have put myself in other people's shoes. The whole "judge not" thing is a favorite quote among liberals and non-Christians. You're right, though. Of course I don't believe that a Christian should have a narrow, judgmental attitude. I'm against fundamentalists of every kind (KJV-only, Fred Phelps, Al-qaeda, etc), so please don't call me one. But what you don't understand is the difference between moral laws and ceremonial laws. Sexual sins (all of them, not just homosexuality) fall into the former category. It's just like saying you shouldn't worship other gods, because there is only one God. Now as for the others, such as not eating shellfish or pork and other nitpicky things like that, those are called ceremonial laws, which were to be practiced only by the Israelites at that time, and when Jesus came, He put an end to those ceremonial requirements. God said to Peter in a dream not to call anything unclean that He has called clean.
I'm sorry if you think that morality is barbaric. To me it's just reality and what I perceived as normal growing up. Until I was eleven, I didn't know it was even possible for people to be attracted to the same sex, until my mom gave me the "talk" (during the whole Disney-boycotting thing, which I'm against, btw, because the boycott is ridiculous).
So before you attack me and say I'm homophobic, etc., *I HAVE gay friends.* If I were homophobic, I would be going around calling them derogatory names and I wouldn't be a music major in Houston! The point is, those of you who say conservative Christians are contradicting themselves by "picking and choosing" which laws to follow need to understand the differences between the *types* of laws and which ones are applicable to all generations.
And I do NOT advocate sarcastic adages, such as "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." These are childish and don't get debates anywhere (although I do believe that God would have made gay couples in the garden of Eden, if He had wanted it that way).
I don't think you can pinpoint it to calling it a choice or natural; it's way more complicated than that.
So the real issue is, are you using the Bible to affirm that your sexual attraction is ok with God? Or are you asking God what you can do to honor Him? I hope you choose the latter, but that IS a choice you have the ability to make, regardless of sexuality.

Your argument just doesnt work. Nature has proven that humans naturally mate with each other, male and female. Overwhelming majority are heterosexual. It is absolutely natural for humans to be heterosexual. It is completely abnormal for them to be homosexual, which means they are either wired a little off from normal humanity or they are choosing this lifestyle.
This may not sound politically correct, but it is just the way it is. Whether you believe in God or evolution, humans were meant to be together as male/female.
If you were to do a role reversal then you would be saying the abnormal in pretty much all sexually divided species should be the norm.
I dont need to be in everyones shoes to know something isnt correct. I have never put myself in a position to have an unwanted pregnancy but it doesnt mean I would change my position if I were. I have never been addicted to drugs, but it doesnt mean I think its ok for someone to keep doing drugs just because it is hard to stop.
Having integrity means that you stick to what you know is right, regardless of what shoes you are wearing.
If you want to live a homosexual lifestyle then dont belong to a religion that teaches it is wrong. But you have no business trying to force a religion to change its beliefs to suit you.

This is actually a great question. And we have a wonderful example to demonstrate your point. Check this out.
Pro 6:16 These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him:
Pro 6:17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Pro 6:18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
Pro 6:19 A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
You do not hear about these abominations because many of us Christians (self included) are guilty of them. But when we get our hands on a sin we are not guilty of then we are quick to point it out. It is the hypocrisy of our fleshly nature. This is what would happen if it said "Heterosexual".

Well....in your hypothetical situation. No one would be here now to read your question. If homosexuality was the norm, then there would be no reproduction. No reproduction, no continuence of the species.
Also, if I remember the scripture correctly, it doesn't say homosexuality is an abomination to God, just that it's an abomination....along with incest and beastiality among other things. Leviticus, chapter 18.
Have you ever checked your sources before asking a question that put words in other people's mouths?

That would never happen. The people who wrote the bible were heterosexual men living under ancient codes that are barbaric by contemporary standards.
If it did say that heterosexuals are an abomination to god, I'm sure it would be glossed over or defined as the "old mosaic laws" that fundamentalist Christians use to ignore other barbaric roles, like forbidding shellfish in Leviticus ("it is an abomination) or for burning the preacher's sexually active daughters.

What a question. I betcha the Christians would abstain altogether and all the gay folks would become hetrosexual. Anything to buck the system and be the center of controversy. Mmm

We're not saying it would be hard for a homosexual to not give into those temptations. That's his/her burden to face. But God's foundation of His plan is the family which is only a family if it is made up of a Man married to a Woman. That is the only time that a marriage can be true marriage, and that is how God made it to be.

Crazy,
It is not mu job or anybody elses to Judge anybody else. I will appear before CHRIST the same way that you and everybody else will. We will await HIS Judgment and it will be FINAL. There will be no second chance. I do not need to place my feet in another person's shoes. I do not believe that anybody needs to be judging others. I suggest that we all grab a BIBLE and study it daily so that we may be successful in our journey to Heaven. Have a great weekend.
Thanks,
Eds

If the population continues to grow at current rates, the world will face an overpopulation crisis, so maybe God will be flip-flopping on homosexuality in the near future. Promoting homosexuality would help control population.
