Lots of psychology involved here. All sins may be under one light as far as God is concerned, but mankind certainly weighs them differently. If someone murders your parents, don't tell me that you find that no worse than the theft of a cookie. Also sins that are willingly continued are not forgiven until they are discontinued. Sexuality is paramount in society. All things are sexualized. We dwell on sexual thoughts frequently. If you tell a lie, it will disturb very few people. If a man kisses a man, it will disturb many. It will even arouse nauseous feelings in some. Non-Christians are equally repulsed by this behaviour. Lying/ cheating is natural. Homosexuality is grossly unnatural. Especially the male variety. Pornography promotes female homosexuality, and has convinced most men that this is attractive. As a result of this propaganda, it is now a fad amongst young girls to be bi-sexual. Film stars who are idolized by many help to further this agenda. You are correct however. Christians should not be attacking anyone, but at the same time they certainly need to be defenders of the faith. Jesus "attacked" the money changers. He did not simply stand by and love them, did he? When you see Christian denominations compromising the scriptures by performing same sex unions and allowing homosexual clergy, you may rightly assume that your faith is under attack.

Why is it that the "gay" subject has been so popular in recent years?
1. The Mass media in every form is trying to present the idea that a Gay lifestyle is normal, natural, and a respectable choice for adults.
2. Those who know the Bible know their duty to warn people about Sin and the horrible consequences of Sin.
3. Homosexuality is in a special category of Sin as listed in the Bible. Below are some examples of why it is such a despicable Sin:
Eph 5:5-6
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
(KJV)
Rom 1:21-22
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(KJV)
Rom 1:24
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(KJV)
Rom 1:26-27
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
(KJV)
Rev 21:8
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
(KJV)
The Bible does not imply that Homosexuality is wrong. It implicitly states that this is the case.
It is ironic that you take the side of Gay people as if they are some innocent group who must minds their own business.
They interject their sexuality in everything they do. They wear it on their sleeves and it is the chip on their shoulder. Say one word against homosexuality and they label you homophobic.
They are aggressive and perverted in their behavior and thinking. But this is exactly what Romans 1 talks about. This is their natural behavior.
In Sodom & Gomorrah no one stopped this behavior or confronted it, and look how push the homosexuals got there. It is the way they are. It is their nature.
So while I appreciate your sensitivity, I must wonder, where is your sense of righteousness and holiness?
Forgiveness, Love, and Mercy of God can only be witnessed when His holiness has been satisfied. Until then, it is just condemnation and judgment.
Jesus came to save. But in order to be saved a person must understand that they are a sinner and repent.
Unrepentant contentious sinners need to be confronted with their future:
Jude 1:18-23
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
(KJV)

It is an abomination before God and any normal thinking person.
If you don't repent and stop the sin, you may not go to hell, but you also will not find Jesus or God in your life.
Life is so much easier to cope with when you have the Holy Spirit guiding you.
He won't come near while you live in sin.
Repent murder, get saved. Repent stealing, get saved. Repent abominations, get saved. All good children go to heaven.
God isn't looking for the righteous He already knows them. He is looking to help you change your entire being into something worthwhile.
God isn't looking to send anyone to hell, as He sent His Son to die so none must perish.
He loves us one and all. Give Him a chance to show you.

I am an athiest first. I think there are grounds for Christians saying that if the gay actually makes a choice to be gay. But my own research (better grounds than mere belief) shows scientific data that gays are different mentally as well as might be physically. So many are born to be gay. It is also a normal requirement of nature that people seek mates for companionship as well as sex. Christians that cannot accept the scientific facts, I'm not going to call wrong. But, I will definitely say they are completely blinded to facts. But know better than hope for a change. To an outsider like me a Christian that doesn't accept the facts is announcing that either god is making a great number of mistakes or whoever he left in charge of the baby production line is. Remember, some Christians are not so intolerant and lacking in understanding. In fact I think most actually accept gays.

Repentant homosexuals will make it to heaven just like repentant liars and cheaters.
When a typical person uses the terms "gay", or "liar", they are generally referring to someone who is currently practicing these activities. This indicates that the person has not repented of the sinful actions.

Lying and sexual immorality are pretty much 2 sins described that won't enter into heaven. However I think most of us do lie once in a while.
When we do, we need to repent, try to stop this behavior because satan is the father of lies.
The gay life style needs to be repented, and stopped also.
All you have to do is read about Sodom and Gomorrah to know what God thinks about that life style. That should be a reason to turn from that.
It is not a reason for people to bash gays. It's a reason to try to grab their hand and direct them away from the fire. Just like we should do for liars, cheaters...but do it with love. If we are not really sincerely thinking of the others benefit, and just pointing at the speck in their eye, then we are not looking at the plank in ours.

i personally believe that the sexually immoral will not inheirit the kingdom of god! the word sexually immoral has a broad spectrum and it does include homosexuality. the bible also says that the sexual sin is the only sin that iscommitted against the body. all other sin is outside the body! i donot personally believe that god made hell or hades for people, rather god created hell for satan and his angels! people that donot accept the kingdom of god ,in their natural life, are cast into outter darkness, they will see the kingdom but will not ever enter in! their worm will eat them and the eternal fire will neveer be quinched!

In the frailty of the human condition, people show the insecurity in their own lives by finding flaws in others. A perfect example can be found in the following parable of Jesus:
Luke 18:9 Jesus also told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else. 18:10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people: extortionists, unrighteous people, adulterers – or even like this tax collector. 18:12 I fast twice a week; I give a tenth of everything I get.’ 18:13 The tax collector, however, stood far off and would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, be merciful to me, sinner that I am!’ 18:14 I tell you that this man went down to his home justified rather than the Pharisee. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (NET)
For many It is so much easier to convince themselves that they are better than someone else than to change. This is what many do.

Being a Christian, you should seek the answer for yourself in the Bible. It's not what we Christians say that matters, it's what the Lord has said on this issue

I would never, ever say that! How could I face God after taking His authority on myself? Brrrrrrrrrr! I would be like the people in the Bible who say to the mountains, "Fall on me and hide me from God's wrath" (not a direct quote, but you get the idea).
I think people say that because so many homosexuals are unrepentant, i.e., unwilling to give up the sin. No doubt there are some outright hypocrites saying it too, like that Fred Phelps guy.
