So I'm sixteen, and my dad said OK to the Eclipse 2007, and everything, but then theres the insurance problem.

They said I cant get it without charging my dad and me a ton of money.

I'm EXTREMELY attached to this car, basicly as much as lambo fans dream of getting a lambo, but probably even more, because I have a chance of owning this car eventually.

I've planned everything, I got a job, I've got saved up for vertical doors, the hook ups, sound systems, everything.

I have got to have this car, please, is there ANY way of getting my insurance to insure the Eclipse?

I currently have State Farm, but my dad knows how much I LOVE this car, and how much it means to me, and is willing to switch insurances if they will insure me, but so far, none have

please, are there any insurance companies that will insure the Eclipse to a 16 year old?

or a way to get them to?

Please and Thanks :((((((((

And again, I'm feeling so depressed right now, I have no idea what I'll do if I don't get it :(

Gah, I'm sorry people, i forgot to add some stuff :(((

it's going to be used, and money in the long run is not an issue

i have money set aside for the future (around 100k, and my dad's car parts company)

I know i sound spoiled, but trust me, i've never really asked for all that stuff, my dad just worries about me too much.

But this is the first thing i've ever wanted so badly, that i'd probably do anything to get it.

Several things going against you. Nothing happens to be positive either.

You have never been insured before.
You have less than 2 years driving experience.
The car you picked is brand new and may have to be leased?
Either way you will need full coverage.
The car is a 2 door, which = more money to insure.
And it's considered a sports car. By who?

Anything less than 3k a year, keep dreaming. Sorry sport.
Luckily, you have it better than 95% of Americans with options on a first car.

Your problem is not that the insurance company will not insure you, it is that you are unwilling to pay for it.
I would suggest that you shop around for different rates in the hope of finding an insurance premium that you can live with. An independant insurer may offer a better rate.
The real problem is that you are a 16yr old inexperienced driver, with a brand new, expensive, high performance vehicle. Insurance is going to be expensive for you as long as you are under the age of 25.
This is because statistically speaking, the 16-25 age group has the highest number of claims.

Personally, I'd recommend getting a lower performance car for a first vehicle. That way you'd have far more spendable cash to spend on it in the long run.

If any money is to be saved, it will have to be done by either getting your grades up and/or taking some driving courses.
If you have done both of these things, then get the car and work on it for two years and drive a different car so that when it is done you can swap the policy over to your dream ride.
But keep that driving record clean and accident clear.
The reason I say swap the insurance over is to get a discount from State Farm. While many companies base insurance on drivers records State Farm also tracks them by car, so you get a little price brake the longer a car is insured by them (but it carries over to a replacement car)

You've saved enough to modify the way the car looks but you thing the insurance is too much? Part of owning a vehicle is paying for insurance. If you can't afford the vehicle (price, insurance, gas, maintence) then you really shouldn't be saving to modify it.

P.S. My friends 16 year old kid just rolled his truck while doing donuts in a parking lot. Want to know why insurance is so expense for young drivers?

Trying to own a new (even previousl owned) sports car is going to cost a big chunk of change. You are in a high risk age group and nothing you can do to change it. Be advised that the alterations you are considering will not be covered unless you add a rider (more money) to the policy. Next time you see one of your friends "squealing" their tires, smack him because he's is one of the reasons you can't get insured.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD THAT YOU CAN DO BECAUSE YOU HAVE SO MUCH AGAINST YOU AS STATED ABOVE.

ANYTIME SOMEONE IS GETTING READY TO BUY A VEHICLE I ALWAYS TELL THEM TO CHECK JUST HOW MUCH THE INSURANCE IS FIRST SO THIS WAY THEY WILL HAVE A BETTER IDEA JUST WHAT THEIR PAYMENTS WILL BE.
