While it's hardly admirable to, as you put it, "fool around with a younger man" if you are a married mother with young children, at least this mother was honest with her children and explained what was going on, rather than leaving them wondering why mommy and daddy were fighting.

It sounds like you are very close to this situation, perhaps even one of the children involved? (You said that the dad only filed for divorce because you hated her, if I understood you correctly?) If that's the case you have every right to feel hurt and angry, but perhaps you should talk to a trusted friend, school counselor or your church minister if you go to church. You shouldn't let this blight your life by making you bitter and angry with your mother forever. She may not be perfect but she is still your mother and I'm sure she still loves you, however stupidly she has acted.

Let me make sure I understand your question... would I tell my kids that my husband wasn't their father? not until they were older. I think every person should know who their biological parents are, but to tell young children that "daddy" isn't their father is just out of the question. They don't need to hear that until they are 13 or older, in my opinion.

ok...so mom cheated on dad once before...they're divorced or getting a divorce and the kids most likely will want to stay with dad...she's in a relationship with a younger guy and your problem is what? she's divorced...and she's an adult...and if her new guy likes her body stretch marks and everything who cares...sounds like you have issues with someone else's business...
