He's too old for cropping. If you are wanting to breed learn the breed standards, find a mentor & show your dog to CH. No dog should be used for breeding under 2 years old.

No you cant still crop a 7 month old dogs ears, it's cruel at that age, and I doubt you could find a vet that would do it anyway. At that age all the nerve endings are fully developed and it could leave phantom pains, and they probably wouldn't stand anyway. I have no problems with cropping but you have already missed the window.
Second off, Unless you plan on titling your dog in conformation, doing the relative genetic testing and waiting until he's two to make sure he can get certified in hips and elbows... neuter him. You have no business breeding him unless you have accomplished all these things and he's at least two years old. There are way too many puppies in the world, most of the bred by uneducated (in breeding) owners with poorly bred parents. Unless your dog has a proven line of champions, and you know most of the dogs histories in that line I would avoid breeding, if you do it right you wont make any money and if you dont your just a horrible back yard greeder.

Vets usually crop ears at twelve weeks old, 7 months it way too old. Also, why are you wanting to breed him; unless you are a serious Min pin breeder (which I'm sure you're not since you asked this question) there is no reason to breed him. (Money is not a reason by the way). Lots of people love their dog and want it's offspring, but trust me, there are already plenty of Minpins and every other breed and mutt that need homes. If you want a friend for your min pin, adopt him one from a shelter and just have him neutered.

I wouldnt do it at this point. The dog has to suffer through a painful surgery and the after care is WAY INTENSIVE! As for breeding....definately do research before you do, and unless you're planning on starting your own kennel and know A LOT about the breed I'd reconsider.

NO! He is way too old to even consider it at this point.
The breeding...it sounds like you need to do some homework, not to seem harsh, but if you dont even know the basics, you hadnt ought to be breeding your dog either!! I am serious, it is a lot of work, and you need to be breeding for the right reasons, not just to make a few bucks. Please do lots of research before you make any decisions here. Thanks.

No - this would be way, way too painful for your dog.
And breeding him? Is he of supreme quality to breed or will his offspring end up as bait for dog fighting or in the Humane Society? Think about this long and hard. Thousands and thousands of dogs are killed monthly who are good dogs with no home that wants them.

I suppose you could.....but why would you? It's nothing more than cosmetic, and too painful to make any sense. The breed is born with floppy ears....you'd think you'd be OK with the NATURAL breed!
He has to be 18 months old before bred, preferably.
