Just start filling your belly up with the good stuff and you won't crave the bad stuff. That's what I do.
Instead of drinking soda, I make fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies at home. They're delicious and sweet, but unlike soda they are nutritious.
.
You becoming addicted to soda is by no accident. It's the caffeine and high fructose corn syrup and sucrose that can do this to some people.
Here are some interesting facts that you might want to know about soda...
1. Soda can erode tooth enamel, cause cavities, etc..
(I know because I've been there, done that,
I have a much healthier set of teeth now, cause I learned the hard way)
3. Soda can cause drowsiness becaus of high sugar content
4. Soda causes flatulence.
3. Soda doesn't contain vitamins
4. Soda depletes vitamins, minerals and calcium from your body.
5. Soda (Coca-Cola and similar drinks) is/are loaded with too much high fructose corn syrup sweetener which can make you fat and adversely affect your concentration. High fructose corn syrup is not a natural sweetener by the way and should not be in our food supply. It is a toxic sweetener.
6. Too much consumption of soda can contribute to the onset of diabetes later on in life. Each 15oz serving contains 9 to 10 tsp of sweetener. This is an overdose serving of sweetener.
7. Coca-Cola makes an excellent toilet bowl cleaner and coin cleaner because of the acids in the drink.
8. The name Coca-Cola came from the term Cocaine Cola. It was originally developed as a medicinal elixir and did contain extracts of the opium poppy (plant used to make cocaine and heroin) a long long time ago. Who knows, they might still slip some in there, knowing the greedy evil corporations we have in the world.

Is it the sugary taste or the carbonation?
If it's the sugary taste, then consider cutting regular soda w/ diet soda or switch to carbonated juices to wean yourself off the flavor.
As you become accustomed to carbonated juices, add more plain carbonated water to get used to less sweetness.
If it's the carbonation, switch to carbonated water. Some are flavored w/ fruit essences or you can use lemon or lime slices.
When eating out, consider ordering plain iced tea.
Good Earth makes a tea that tastes sweet from the spices but is sugar free. It's excellent over ice.

It took me a year, but I actually have my two children 13 and 11 ordering seltzer / club soda with lime whenever we go anywhere where soda is served. They tell me that they actually enjoy it more than soda. Only an occasional breakdown.
Try it for a month or more and you will start preferring it.

I was the same way,I was truly addicted to soda but then I realized that was why I was gaining so much weight, because soda has so much empty calories and sugar and its so bad for your teeth,so I just thinking about my weight and realized that soda wasn't worth it,so I started ordering water with lemon and flavored water,I still have a soda every now and then but not as much as I ust too.If I could do it you can do it.good luck.

hey this is the kid who u talked with about the sleeping problem. I would really appreciate if i could get your email so we could further discuss this.
Now about your soda problem: I have this problem too. Perhaps find an alternative. Maybe orange juice? Vitamin Water?
