How do they compare in speed and safety?

You should most definitely get hte RX8!! The Cobalt SS is faster, but the RX8 handles a whole lot better, and is of a much much higher quality. The Mazda would probably last you twice as long as the Chevy, and probably half the cost in repairs.

Go for the 2004 Mazda RX-8, much sportier and reliable than the Cobalt.

Cobalt for sure. Chevy takes less time to get up to speed. Safety wise they're pretty similar. You won't go wrong either way.

i have an 07 cobalt and LOVE it. its great on gas. and safety ratings are very good. just dont go with the light color on the interrior like I did it gets dirty QUICK and hard to clean up

Mazda RX8. Japanese cars are the best for quality, durability, design and fuel consumption. You will love them.

Neither! Check out the Volvo C30! Check out the performance stats. The C30 blows them AWAY!
