I've fished a lot from the banks of lakes and ponds. To be honest, it is a complete crap-shoot as to where to fish. Most ponds do not have cover like a major lake does.

You can easily catch fish using ANY lure...crankbait (shallow to medium running), spinnerbait, topwater or any plastics. What is your confidence bait? Go with that.

Since the water is muddy, use a darker color, or something with heavy vibes to attract the fish. Remember, if you can only see 6" in the water, a bass will see 11', so don't worry about them not seeing your bait.

Have fun...don't make it a science because anything will work for you.

1)Fish on the down-wind side of the lake, where the waves are coming towards you.
2)Use a spinner bait. The flash will attract them.
3)Cast out as far as you can and bring the lure back at a pace that will keep it a couple of feet off the bottom.

I'de fish it pre dawn through sun up or pre dusk through to dark. Wind is ussually calmer, fish mare active. You can look for swirls or surface action! dead giveaway. Then it's a matter of either matching forage or tossing out something that has a bit of wiggle and a bit of noise. and rides on or just under the surface, something that makes a wake.

I'd fish slowly. something with alot of vibration like a watermelon/red zoom super speed craw, claws dipped in chartreuse garlic spike-it on a texas rig with a glass bead behind an 1/8oz bullet weight. with this rig i can appeal to all of the bass's senses at once - vibration, taste, sound and sight. good luck
