i have a toothache and i took a tylenol (xtra strength 500 mg) at noon today, then i took another one at 5pm, well my mouth is starting to hurt again and its 10:30 pm now, is it ok to take one now

For a toothache, skip the Tylenol, it isn't so good. Try Advil or other generic Ibuprofen, it's much better. Take 600-800mg (3-4 caps) and you should start feeling better in twenty minutes or so. Plus, it won't have any reaction with the Tylenol you took before, it's a different active ingredient.

If you're an adult, you can take two Extra Strength Tylenol every 4 to 6 hours. However, you will have better pain control if you take tylenol at one dose and ibuprofen at the next dose. Switch back and forth and you'll get pain relief and an anti-inflammatory too.
