I'm not usually mean to people, but I'm going to make an exception for you. Morals don't come from the bible. Are you saying the only moral people are Christians. You do know most of the worlds population is NOT Christian. If you need some book to tell you killing is wrong, I seriously question your morals.

Do you know the definition of a psychopath?

I am an atheist and I am not mean to people. Morals do not come from any book. Morals are taught to people by their parents and teachers and the society in which they live.

Many societies have morals without any bible. Check out the early societies of Egypt, China, India and Native America prior to them ever seeing any bible.

Ok so what you are saying is because i don't read the bible i had no morals. Gee my parents did a really bad job of raising me then! I thought parents give us our morals not some book that may or may not be accurate. Then are you also saying that jews, buddists, muslim, etc people don't have morals either because they don't read the bible?

At first I thought you were a troll, but something tells me that you actually mean what you say.

Morals do not come from the bible. The bible is a work of fiction into which some common ideas of morality were written.

Which morals come from bible?
The one about rape is not a good thing?
The one where child molestation is not a good thing?
The one about slavery is not a good thing?

Please read bible at least once or have someone read it to you from Genesis through Revelations.
You will be amazed that anyone could ever say "morals come from the bible".

"Morals come from the bible"
Ha ha ha, ROTFL, LMFAO.
Okay, hee hee, let me catch my breath... If morals come from the bible, please tell me if I should acquire a slave from my own tribe, or if I should avoid playing football. After all, in Leviticus, I am commanded to not enslave another from my own tribe, but I can enslave others. And, since a football can be made from pig skin (literally), I may be in gross violoation of Mosaic law.

Get a grip. Even you don't use the bible as a source of morals. If you do, please let us know! And then, be prepared to defend your answers, because you just know that we'll find contradictory commands that you'll have to also defend.

No.I endeavor to treat others with kindness and respect because that is the way to lead a satisfying life. Actions have consequences. What comes around goes around. I see no evidence that religious people are better people by anybody's standards -- even their own -- than freethinkers.

Morals are social contracts. If you want to be a part of society, you live, for the most part, by the moral laws of the culture you live in.

That is why different cultures have different morals.
