What I mean by this is that my friend who's an atheist got his girlfriend a present, who was an atheist as well. Atheists say that Christians are hypocrites, but isnt this the same thing?

Oh, I dont celebrate Christmas either. What does running up your credit card, lusting for material items, greed, and guilt have to do with Jesus.
On top of that all, December 25 is no where mentioned in the Bible. It was made by a pope (whose name I cant remember) about 800 years after Jesus was killed.

I celebrate Christmas with my family and Hanukkah with my Jewish friends. They don't seem to have a problem with it.
My husband just went to see The Dalai Lama with me and he's not Buddhist. I didn't think for a moment that he was a hypocrite.

The only Christian thing about Christmas is the Nativity Scene. EVERYTHING else comes from previous pagan celebrations: giving gifts, feasting, decorating trees, wreaths, egg nog, mistletoe, stockings, ect. I mean, I've been to peoples houses on Christmas that were using Yule Logs and didn't know the meaning behind it. Christians took all the Pagan celebrations throughout the year and twisted them. Now they're all becoming secular. Payback sucks, huh?

It a pagan holiday. It was hijacked by the Christians. Now days it is a secular holiday. Santa is not a religious symbol. The beloved Christmas tree is pagan.
It's certainly not Jesus birthday.

Humans have a subconscious mind which, in order to defend itself, has us hate things we know somewhere inside of us aren't true. Somewhere inside, both consciously and subconsciously, we know that Christmas was never the birthday of Jesus. Inside, we know that all that Christmas revolves around is a precarious lie, and that it is actually the pre-Christian holiday of Yule, which celebrates the Sun God. So we hate the lie of this modern holiday, not the holiday itself.

Christians never owned the winter holiday to begin with. The tradition of people coming together in the dead of winter to feast, give gifts, and celebrate life goes way, way back.

In fact, some Christian sects like the Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas precisely for this reason.

Besides, it's not like this modern, secular celebration is a new thing . Just look at Christmas decorations from 100 years ago; they certainly weren't all religious-based.

Well it ain't like we have a rule against it. Christmas is almost entirely secular rather you like it or not. You guys really don't own it.

And besides, you guys just stole it off the Pagans. I think you just MIGHT have rules about celebrating Pagan stuff.
