I think it's a test. If you get rid of one of your pets then your like oh screw them I want this dog. It's so wrong on many levels.I say wait. Guinea pigs and rabbits don't live long. So why not just love then and wait for a dog.

Well first dont even bother getting a "shih poo" its a mutt and you could go to the pound and save a dogs life, youll probably find a "shih poo" there anyhow.
Second, if you or your parents are even willing to "give up" your other 2 pets for another you shouldnt even get the dog because the next time you want a pet youll add to the overpopulation in shelters.
In all dont get an animal wait until you are older or the rabbit and guinea die they dont live so long just be patient and love those two for all the time that they live. Then GO TO A SHELTER and save another life.
Shelter Dog (which could very likely be a "shih poo" = 130
Overpriced "shih poo" that fuels the fire for more shelter dogs = 1000+
which is better?

if adding a dog to a rabbit and piggy family makes it too many to take care of then a dog alone right now would be too much, a dog takes way more from its person than either a rabbit or a guinnie pig, and any parent that teaches their kid its ok to replace a pet when it gets too much or inconveneitne or somehting better comes along should simply be beaten!

please keep your bunny and guinnie pig, let them live out the rest of their natural lives with you in their home and when they pass THEN look into getting a dog...
and PLEASE
never support those backyard breeders making a quick buck off mixing breeds, adopt form a shelter of buy a purebreed from a good breeder!

I agree with painted! Pets are forever not just something that can be thrown away when you want something new! Your parents should be ashamed!

Oh and there will always be shih-poo's out there. You should just wait. Your little one's won't live forever and you should really provide them with a wonderful home rather than getting rid of them. It isn't like all the shih-poo's will die tomorrow so you shouldn't be in any hurry to get one. Even though you really really like them you will just have to wait.

Your parents are horrible! Who would teach their child that it's ok to ''trade'' your pets for new ones?

A pet is a lifetime commitment. Wait until your rabbit & guinea pig live out their lifespans, before getting a dog, if you cannot have them at the same time.

So once you get bored of the dog what will you trade him with? They are not toys. Rabbits and guinea pig do get attached to their owners and will be stressed if you abandon them. But by the look of it, they will probably be better off without you as you obviously don't love them and the novelty has worn off.

You made a commitment to take care of the pets that you already have. You need to keep them. And no offense, but it is really dumb to base an important decision, one that could mean life or death for your two pets, on a rubik's cube.

are you taking care of your other pets or does your mom have to take of them maybe they will soften up and let you have the dog to make sure you are responsible enough to feed water and clean them cages before asking for a dog

Your other two pets were there first. Its not right to out them because you want a new cuddly puppy.

What happens when the puppy isn't so cute and cuddly anymore?
