I wonder how they'd like it if someone picketed their religious services? That's basically what a funeral is - a religious observance.
We're supposed to be smarter than that in this country. The founders would be ashamed of such behavior.
And, btw - "not crazy about gays?" How do you feel about people with blue eyes? 'Cause most people on the planet have brown eyes. How about left-handed people? Most people are right-handed.
Homosexuality has been documented in 1,500 species. It's as natural a variation as blue eyes or left-handedness. Join us in the 21st century, won't you?

Let's get this straight, they are not believers. I have heard their rants, and Christians, they are not. Notice how no other assemblies support them or echo their fringe beliefs? I found out something interesting tonight about them, apparently, Fred Phelps is a registered Democrat. Hmmm, could this whole thing be a ruse? Are we being hustled? Either that, or they are a lunatic cult along the lines of David Koresh. They most definitely are not Christians.

I am more pleased than I can say that that Marine's father won this lawsuit against Westboro Baptist Church.
The idea of people who are rude enough to disturb funerals is beyond my comprehension. And to claim that they disrupt them in the name of religion is beyond abhorrent.
This is the same group that wanted to disrupt the funerals of the Amish children who were massacred by that gunman a while back.
There is no excuse, much less any religious excuse, for doing what these Westboro folks do. No god is leading their campaign. This is purely human stupidity.

I am a Christian. If you are talking about the Phelps bunch, I think they are awful for picketing funerals of deceased soldiers. There are many ways to protest peacefully, without being mean and nasty.
Don't accuse God of leading people to do things He doesn't approve of. I believe God is against the homosexual act, but He loves everyone, including all homosexual persons. So do I.
The Phelps people seem to think that homosexuality is the only sin in the world. I would like to let them know that it is only one of many sins, all of which can be forgiven. We should be praying for them to accept Christ and not picketing funerals.

I really do not think that soldiers are dying because the nation is tolerant of homosexuality. I think they are dying due to being shot at with guns, etc. God is not leading this campaign anymore than he lead the Jim Jones fiasco. This is a church gone bad. Influenced by Satan. I think that 11m is too much for most any independent church.

No it's just another reason why people look at some christians and laugh. It's sick and wrong and if they(or anybody) was a true christian they wouldn't pass judgment on anyone for any reason as it says in the bible
judge not lest ye be judged yourself.
its about time people stood up to stupidity in this country and the jury's verdict is gonna bring down a hate monger posing as a church

I think it's a terrible disrespect of the troops in the Middle East. It's not fair to the soldiers fighting the war to protect these Americans from terrorists to disrespect them by protesting at one of their funerals. It's pathetic!

Haha, Phelps got sued!
You know you've got to be nuts when you're on Fox News and even THEY call you a zealot.
>>,and wich [sic] God is leading this campaign?
Apparently the god of the Bible, "God". It's those same scriptures, after all, that are fueling Phelps.

It's pretty disgusting, but it's nice to see that there is still a line, and still certain things that people won't tolerate just because they're done in the name of "Jesus."
See how this issue actually brings us together? I thumbed up C. L. Richardson!
