Don't you think Jesus would prefer us to examine our own lives, and to quickly say I am wrong, and Please forgive me?

I completely agree, but its so easy to hide escape from our mistakes by seeing them in other people. Most uf us are afraid to look at ourselves and see the wrong we do.

It's alway easier to point fingers and judge others. It's not as easy to look at oneself and see what changes need to be made there. Many people cannot do it. But that is exactly where we should begin if we want to improve the world.

Yes. We are to examine ourselves and deal with any current sin before pointing out the errors of others. But we are not to be silent.

Yes. I agree. And most people who are quick to judge, usually have something to hide themselves. They are always talking about someone else to keep the focus off of them. I'm speaking of people who do this all the time. We have all been gossipers at one time or another. We just have to repent.

For sure! I think he made it pretty clear that we should concentrate on ourselves (on the plank in our own eye) before we start worrying about other people (the speck in their eye)...and since we all have a plank of some kind in our eye, removing it doesn't leave us a lot of time to worry about other people! Didn't he say we should focus on loving God and loving each other and let him worry about the people that don't?

Yes, you are so right. It's our human nature to see the specks in our brother's eye and not the log in our own. Yes, Jesus would want us to examine ourselves and repent if we have erred or offended anyone. Thanks for that reminder.

I examine myself daily and repent daily. It would do me no good to try and lead others from sin and go to Hell myself.
