Candy is very bad for children, and they should be spared the terrible tooth decay, and subsequent trips to the Dentist.
therefore, I as a responsible parent go through their bags, and pick out the healthy treats for them,
it an effort to not be wasteful, I then take care of what is left.

It will probably help the kids to not be so hyper.....I have to tell you a funny story.....My mom and I are rather short so the kids wanted us to go treat or treating with them.....we walked up to the door with the little ones with our costumes on and one of the little ones said grandma what did you get in your bag?.....my mom and I were so embarrassed
But you could try getting your own candy.....

Yes, that's stealing. Shame on you! You should ask first.
Actually, I think it's OK so long as they have more than a few of whatever you're taking. If they have 10 Milky Ways and you take one, fine. But if they only have one giant Baby Ruth and you take it, that's bad. The Great Pumpkin will curse you.

Yes, it is a sin! Unless it's something really yummy, in which case God understands. God used to steal candy when Jesus went trick-or-treating as the holy ghost.

It's the Parent Tithe. Every tenth piece of candy is owed to us. Don't feel guilty!

LOL...no, you're protecting you child from all that sugar and other stuff that's bad for him/her and God tells us to protect our kids.
...but was it a sin for me to turn off the lights and pretend to be asleep so I didn't have to give away all my Butterfingers and Dots tonight?
