No.
I believe that there are Biblical principles found in passages such as I Corinthians 8 & 10 that teach us that if we do something against conscience, then we sin, even if our conscience is in error. This is implicitly taught here, not explicitly, ie. it is implied, not explicitly stated.
Also, I realize this is not the thrust of this passage, but James 4:17 says "Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins."
EDIT: In reading the responses of others, I am sad that hardly anyone took your question seriously or even tried to show Scriptural principle. People either argued the meaning of the 6th commandment or gave answers using human logic only. I thought it was a good question & searched high & low for the texts, even asking my pastor.

I am a Quaker and believe that thou shall not kill, and be good to your neighbors so on and so forth but I served 4 years in the AF. I don't believe in killing others so I made sure that I took a job on the flight-line working on the jets rather than carrying a rifle around all day shooting at others. You do have choices when you volunteer to sign up for the service and that being said you should be able to take a job that doesn't require you to kill. I do recommend joining the service and believe that almost every one (women included) should serve for this grate nation this is what keeps us free! As we all know it is a persons free will to join or not to but think of the sacrifices made for your freedom over the years and decide weather you are being selfish by not joining.

No, they shouldn't. Why join the military if you knew from the beginning that you will be trained for combat and that you know it's a possibility to use that training(whether it's during war or peace time)?
If you're seeking to make a difference, go join some other group...hopefully it won't be a cult or those anti-war protestors, or terrorist cells.
The armed forces are there to protect and serve by any means necessary. The last thing you need is a soldier getting soft or doubts him/herself when (s)he is faced to kill to protect themselves and the unit. So, before you or anyone decides to join, ask yourself what you are willing to sacrifice.

Not if they plan on straight up refusing to ever kill a human being.
It is against the law to violate a direct order that is made in sound mind. If that order is to shoot at the enemy, then you must do it or go to jail. Simple as that. There are plenty of UCMJ articles detailing this. Such as:
Article 99 (Misbehavior before the enemy):
"(8) willfully fails to do his utmost to encounter, engage, capture, or destroy any enemy troops, combatants, vessels, aircraft, or any other thing, which it is his duty so to encounter, engage, capture, or destroy"

First, define what "kiling" is, I might have a better answer then.
As far as I know, Kiling is a dialect of the Spanish language.

In today's Armed Forces no one is made to join. It is a personal decision that an individual makes.
In fact, the military has a policy of not allowing "Conscientious Objectors In. Conscientious objectors are those who do not believe or refuse to use weapons in war or to kill. Just tell the recruiter you are a conscientous objector and they won't take you.

Yes, you should.
Not every job has you with a M16 and a bayonet ready to strike. So many desk jobs, so many safe jobs. If you have a good reason to join and you really want to: do it but pick a low level job, don't go infantry in the Army, be smart about how you feel.

If a person believes killing is wrong, then don't join the army because it's going to be part of your job. You might risk the lives of the other soldiers who needs you to kill the enemy

Well killing IS wrong, but if you look in the bible, God lead the Isrealites as well as many others to war and he let them win.
There are hundreds of other things you can do in the military besides kill other people. There is no verse i can give you, you have to decide for yourself if it is something you want to do or not. it is a very controversal issue

No they shouldnt, these days no matter what your MOS, you may have to defend yourself with a weapon against an enemy trying to kill you and your comrades. If you cant pull that trigger, you will die and your friends as well, you've become a Liability.
