i read that our bodies do not easily digest certain foods well (processed, fried, meat, etc...). and all our body really needs is natural foods such as fruit, veggies, and nuts. things that come from the earth. because we digest those foods well and it's very healthy for us.
i know i'm not going to only eat fruits, veggies, and nuts 24/7. but that's what my diet will mainly consist of. so this is what a regular day would look like (an example):

breakfast: fruit, lots and lots of fruit!
snack (if i'm hungry): fruit or veggies or trailmix
lunch: a big salad w/ nuts
snack: same as above
dinner: (i'm not sure about that yet...)
btw, this is just an example.

thanks in advance for any decent comments!

Trying to eat healthy is commendable, but there are a number of problems here. First of all, at this point, there is absolutely NO protein in your diet, and you can't survive very long without it. You can be a vegetarian, but then you need to include a reasonable amount of protein, such as eggs, dairy products, tofu, or combinations of products like beans and corn which would give you adequate protein.

Secondly, while nuts are healthy, they are very high in fats and even those people who recommend them suggest very limited amounts, like no more than a handful per day.

Thirdly, fruit is good, but most people can't eat more than a couple of servings a day without problems. It is high in sugars, calories, and so high in fiber that you would have digestive problems if you ate it as often as you seem to plan.

Your lunch is a little nonspecific - a salad can mean all kinds of things. If this is mixed raw vegetables, you would be okay if you threw in some protein, but if it is just iceberg lettuce, there would be no nutritional value, or if it is something like macaroni salad, it could be nutritionally bad for you.

Overall, you need more variety - whole grains, beans, more vegetables (and the balance of vegetables to fruit needs to be more in favor of the vegetables). Natural foods are fine, but you need to make sure you substitute for what we get from things like meat, bread, pasta, etc., if you aren't going to eat those things.

It is healthy as long as you get enough protein and healthy fats. Check into vegan diets and look up Dr. Dean Ornish's cookbooks. Buy a vegetarian cookbook or use Lenten recipes from other cookbooks. Don't forget cereals and whole grain products. Non fat dairy products are a good source of protein. Take a multi-vitamin too.
You won't believe how many good meals you can have and how quick and easy most of them are and how good you'll feel.

That all sounds great.... but let me ask you this...ok? can I ask you a question....because I struggle with my weight too and I know a little bit about this.....

What do you love to do? Do you sing? Do you do art? Do you like to play some kind of sport? Do you like to dance?...

How about you do yourself a favor and put as much focus on that thing you love to do as you have been putting on dieting for the next couple of months.... I mean really make a "career" of doing that thing you really love to do....then come back and tell me if you lost some weight or not...ok? try something new.

first, no one is a 'vegetarian'; anyone CAN eat meat if they choose to do so. second, you should not completely eliminate any food from your diet. just eat what you normally eat and excercize regularily (1 hour 3x/week), and you should lose weight
