how can i get the free trial of microsoft word 2003 not 2007

Check the Microsoft website. It is there, just do a search. Just do not click on the link that the person above gave you that links to a university website. That is reserved for only persons that are faculty and staff of the university. More then likely you have to verify that you are a part of the university any ways.
You can't get 2003, a link here is for 2007 which is backward compatible with 2003.
