My classmates brother passed away 2 years ago in a Holloween car accident. He was a football player at my school. I didnt know him personally but ever since he passed away I havent been able to get him of my mind. I feel like i knew him, and I still cant forget about him. Why is this happening if i didnt know him personally?
P.S. His older brother and my older brother went to school together and know me and his younger sisters go to school together. But I never met him.Plz help me

It's not odd to react this way. You still went to school with him, and you still saw him every single day. You get so comfortable and used to seeing that person every day, and then you find out that they've passed away, and it doesn't seem right. No, it's not weird. Something similar happened to me about 2 years ago. Someone I went to school with passed away, and I didn't personally know him, but it really got to me. Death is a bad thing, and it affects everyone - not just close family members.

There is nothing weird about the feelings you're currently experiencing. Think of public reactions to news about the death of famous people such as Martin Luther King, John and Robert Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, or even recently, Anna Nichole Smith. Sometimes people feel losses like the ones that I just mentioned personally as if these people were close personal family and/or friends. In your case, while you may not have known this guy personally, you knew him from a distance, and maybe even closer, due to his older brother going to school with your older brother. In any case, your reaction is not so unusual and like other similar situations abate with time.

Hmm. Maybe you haven't experienced someone passing away, too close to you before.

And this feels rather strange to you because someone you knew, albeit from far away, passed away - whose brother is in your class.

It's always strange and unsettling whenever you hear about death - especially when you've never had it happen before.

Just relax - it will go away soon. Try to keep yourself occupied with other things.

It's happened to me too and I got over it. Think of good things when you think about the person who passed away - that should help.

Maybe you could talk to your classmate - you might be curious and that's what's bugging you?

G'Luck!

Maybe you feel this way because a fatal event has happened close to you & somehow made you feel either vulnerable or shocked. The emotion obviously was very strong. You maybe need to sort this out with a doctor.(?)

Maybe it's his spirit.
