OK, this is something I have never understood. If someone is bad and God sends that person to Hell, isn't that benefiting the Devil instead of trying to keep him in line? Doesn't this relationship make them partners in some way, even equals? "OK, this person won't work on my team, but they would be great for yours," is what it sounds like to me.
I am not trying to imply anything about the nature of the Christian God or of the Devil; I am simply trying to understand this teaching. This is just what it has always sounded like to me.

Please answer without anger toward me. I am just trying to understand; and it is not very Christian to get angry at people for trying to understand the religion, right?

I lo-o-o-ve your reasoning ! Superb !
Many believe and teach that God sends bad people to a burning place.
Interestingly this is NOT a biblical teaching.
God is love (1 John 4:8) and would never torture anyone like that.

You stated that you pray everyday for God to show you , yet you cannot come to believe that your Bf is not the one for you. That sounds like a choice already made . I'm going to post a list of relationship guidelines that God left for us . Also keep in mind that many Prisoners once they get out get caught up in the cares of this world .And that is why there is a 96% statistics (1990 statistics ) that they will go back . No telling what it is today . My 23 years prisoner/God experiences say that when one chooses a prisoner to marry , they have chosen a life of sorrow . We have the free will to choose who we will marry . But people need to listen to God not their hearts . The heart is desperately wicked , and tends to counsel its self . Pretty much the reason that the divorce courts are standing room only . Turn away from men who : are lovers of themselves lovers of money boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to Parents unthankful unholy unloving unforgiving slanderers without self control headstrong brutal dispisers of good traitors haughty lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness, but denying the powers thereof II Timothy 3 :1-7 Don't associate with a ' brother ' if he is : Immoral covetess an idolater reviler drunkard swindler 1 Cor. 5:11 The steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord . psalm 37 :23 Whoever breaks through a hedge, a serpent will bite him Eccl 10:8 The above might help you to decide if it is God or not .

Well you see the whole thing is supposed to be this grand contest. And for God to win, all he has to do is get anybody to heaven. The devil on the other hand, has already been acknowledged to be the winner in terms of pure soul count. So the souls are awarded as points in the game. At the end, there is a count and if God has any, then he wins. Makes sense, eh? Not. There is no hell (well, it is here on earth actually) and we all return to God after our experience here. I always ask people this. As a parent, if your child was really bad and unruly, would you or could you even put your child whom you brought forth, whom you loved and nurtured, into a vat of boiling water as a punishment. Even if they said they hated you, even if they skipped school and shoplifted and did drugs. NO of course only a monster would boil their own child. No more so could God, as the perfect parent, devise such a monsterous and ghoulish punishment. Reason it out, it doesn't make sense. God is Love, the Bible says so right? So we don't get baptised or we break some rule and he will boil us in agony forever. Nope.

First of all, before I answer your answer, I hope you can understand that the Christian God is always depicted as a loving shepherd who search for the lost sheep (Matthew 18:10-14), a loving Saviour who forgive prostitute (Luke 7:36-50), a poor women who search for the lost coin (Luke 15:8-10) and a loving father who waited for his rebellious son (Luke 15:11-32).
All these text can be looked up in http://www.biblegateway.com
What is the different between the Christian God and Devil? The answer also can be found in the bible:
a) Christian God (John 3:16) = Lovingly and patiently searching for us to come to Him so that he can save us from death.
b) Devil (1 Peter 5:8) = Angrily, working day and night to devour and destroy us to death.
Second point: The devil never neither control over hell nor does hell exist today under our feet. Why?
a) Hell of Fire will only exist when the end of the world come one day (Matthew 13:40-42, 2 Peter 3:10).
b) The people who have died, nor their spirit in heaven or in hell. They are sleeping in their grave until Jesus comes to wake them up. (John 5:28,29; Acts of Apostles 2:29, 34 ; John 11)
c) The Devil will be destroy in Hell of Fire at the end (Revelation 20:10)
Will bad guy be destroyed at the end?
Yes, only if they continuously don't want to accept salvation from the Christian God. They have chosen their fate that is to be with the Devil. When the devil is destroyed, the bad guys also will be destroyed at the same time. (Matthew 13:40-42, Revelation 22:12)

good question...
to me God the opposite of all the Devil stands for.
from what i understand of the bible, hell is not an actual place.
Its the fire, the light which surrounds God.
this fire is hell to some people but other people thrive on this fire like the way plants do.
in Revelation it says heaven doesn't need a sun and the only light source there is the light around God.
Its so bright we won't need a sun to live there. The sun is around 5,000 kelvins. That's pretty hot.
only the people like God can stand living in that kind of perfect light.
plz check out daniel 3. isaiah 33 and exodus 33.18 to end.
here's an eg. of people walking into fire and walking out of it alive.
it's a mini-picture of life in heaven one day.
its kinda like Superman covered by the glass dome when the kryptonite spilled everywhere and he was ok.

First off, the burning hell hasn't happened yet. And when it does the lost souls will be burnt and go up in smoke, never to exist again. If you heated up a skillet to a high temperature and dripped a drop of water in it, it just sizzles for a second then is gone forever. That's what will happen to the unsaved souls at the end of this earth age. God will not allow eternal suffering, He will end ALL suffering. So there will be no evil team, or anything negative, or any memories of anything bad. It will be a perfect paradise. In true translation, eternal hell actually means not making it to heaven. Hope this helps.

As Christians we should most definitely build each other up.
I can see why the confusion. I worked somewhere that during a competition, we were divided into 2 teams. One the red devils, and the other Angels.
No wonder the confusion. With God, He is the only team leader, and there is no other team.
God Bless!

People should not get angry because you are sincerely asking a question. I know that it is difficult to understand the ways of God. Even we Christians have a hard time, just because the knowledge and wisdom of God is so much greater than ours. That is why alot of times we believe in what is said in the Bible and by faith. You need the Holy Spirit living within you to make this all make sense, and He only comes when you ask Jesus into your heart. Just ask God to show you and help you to understand. He will because he wants to.

There will always be confusion until it is known that there is never, was never a good - evil relationship. If there were, then there would be more than one God. God does not enjoy a "death" by sin or sending a person to hell, especially since God can't find hell within His infinite mind.

Thank You, I've never thought of the God-Devil relationship as you have described. If you read the story of Job in the bible that is exactly what's going on. Personally I think we need to re-think about the whole concept of God and be a little kinder to God and ourselves.
