I had a cousin who shot himself about 4 years ago. And he was from a Catholic and from a christian family. And I know the thoughts at the wake were why obviously he did do this. But also if he would be damned to hell? Do you think he or anyone can still go to heaven once they do themselves in?

I am a Christian and have read numerous books about this topic. I think that we all hope that God understands us humans and how sometimes due to circumstances/illness/addictions/etc. we give up and end up taking our own lives. God does want us to treat our bodies as a temple and cherish it, as it was a gift to us. However, my hope is that if someone did take his own life, maybe God will have mercy on that person and still allow that person into Heaven. I hope that in your situation, that is what happens with your cousin.

I have wondered that for a long time. Suicide is not an answer but if they got together and contracted some one who didn't mind going to hell for a large sum of money they could get get that person to commit a mass murder they would be off the hook and then in heaven. But they would come up with something why not. I think the people who do the sacrifice for others thing and work in AIDS wards or starving countries where they have a good chance of getting killed are doing the same thing, but justifying it in another way.

All sins past, present and future are covered by the Blood of Jesus forever at the moment we are saved.

God forgives and forgets our sin (Hebrews 10)

The handwriting of the law which is contrary to us is taken out of the way and nailed to the cross.

Jesus didn't kinda sorta conquer sin and death....He conquered both completely for us.

he stands eternally to make intercession for the saints. (us who are saved)

The Blood of Jesus is not temporary like the blood of bulls and goats....it is the eternal sacrifice of the eternal High Priast made once for all.

Jesus will not get back on the cross and die over and over at our whim. His Grace is sufficient..Hid Blood id not a common thing.

To say that suicide of one already saved is unforgivable is an offense to the Spirit of Grace and tramples underfoot the sacrifice of our lord as common.

My beliefs are probably way off, but I believe you are still bound to earth and that you must finish your unfinished business and tasks before you can then go to heaven, in which case it's more difficult, as you no longer have a body. Once your tasks have been completed, you sit next to God until He decides you can be reincarnated.

According to the Catholic Church: No; He is in hell and he will be burning in hell for eternity.

A very close friend of mine died last year. It's a good thing I don't believe in this mythical God character or I might, too, be concerned this friend's welfare in the afterlife.

Only God knows for sure but I believe we serve a good loving God that looks at your heart and knows your pain, suicide is a forgivable sin and I am sure if he loved God he will make it to heaven.

The logical answer, is that we all go to the same place, when we all die - to the afterlife or spirit world.
Same for those who commit suicide. Which is a terrible waste and loss.
Because this reality here, is what we are here for. We are not here by accident but because we wish to be here - really.

Religion lies to us - especially about the afterlife, heaven, etc etc.

It's not an unforgiveable sin, regardless of what the Catholic church teaches.

The Bible teaches that we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God.
So to be saved we need to accept Jesus Christ as our Savor to be saved. To do that we need to repent of our sins and if you cannot do that how can you be saved. Murder in the bible is sin and if you kill yourself how can you repent as your dead and it is sad but true that you blew your own chance of Salvation away.
