There's this creepy "friend" i have. I saw him and he was alone so i went to talk to him, but now he act's like we're really close. Whenever he sees me he holds me or puts his arm around me and won't let go. I try to stay away from him. It's really creepy, and one time when he held me and i moved away he held me tighter. My best friend saw this and got upset. He said "you have to do something, it's sexual harrasment, I'm only saying this because i care about you, if you don't do anything about it i will". Is he right? IS it sexual harrasment? He holds me and i feel uncomfortable and he's really creepy about it, like he's an obsessed freak. If i do report him to the authorities what will they say? I don't think they'll do anything about it because "that's what friends do". I don't think they'll believe me or do anything unless i tell them he's actually touched me in innapropriet places. I don't want my best friend to have to do it for me. Should i report him? what should i do/say?

I have actually delt with a situation exactly like this, and the answer is, you can't tell the athorities. Sexual harassment, can be verbal or physical. But unless he is touching your boobs, or *** or vag, or hes saying he wants to eff you or something, they can;t really do anything, and it would be something hard to even build a case on. I mean they couldnt charge him, or put him in jail for that, so theres really no need to waste the athorities time. The guy who did this too mee was so creepy, he would like see me int eh hall, and i would avoid eye contact and he would still come up to me and hug me and liek try to hold my hand, he once tryed to kiss me on the cheek and so there for I punched him in the face, and it ended from there. I ahve a question for you though, so could you msg me back? but like where do you always see him, cuz could you not just avoid him , like take a detour or something, or not even look at him??? and have you ever said like can you not do that, or said anything at all???
because thats another thing, if you neever said anything to him before about it, or if you have never avoided him the cops wont do anything either. I really want to help cuz i feel yuor pain! AHH!! msg me back if you can or something, but if not just avoid him, and telll him straight up

but yea, its deffinitly not sexual harrasement, and barely harrasment, ive delt with the cops MANY times, and my dad is a cop and my 2 aunts, and im telling you straight up

well it's not really sexual harrassment but you still have a right to your own personal space. Tell him that you don't like him doing this and if he is sane he should stop doing it. If however he is not and continues to hold you when you dont want to be, then just get a bit pissed of at him and push him away and tell him that you have already told him to stop doing it and perhaps make a bit of a public display to embarrass him a little. Hopefully then he will be a bit less amouros. But dont make him feel to unwanted...he might just have a crush on you or sommit and it might make a big effect on him if you upset him enough. So just be careful of what you say.
Good luck!

Whoa. Put your guns back in their holster girl. Woman are crying foul way to often these days because the government allows them to. Use your head instead of the "system". Be strong and get yourself some pride here. If the guy's wigging you out, stop seeing him. Obviously you have no desire (or do you?) to be with this guy so, don't be near him then! Your common sense and intuition is telling you that the guys a creep. So leave it at that. Why do you even want to take it deeper? Use your head.

"I don't think they'll do anything about it because "that's what friends do""

No, friends respect each other, not intentionally do something that upsets the other for their own sick pleasure. Report him, yell at him, knee him in the groin if you have too, just don't allow this pervert and possible future rapist get away with it.

If you tell him to stop and he doesn't, it's harassment. It's not sexual yet, as far as I know, until he touches you somewhere inappropriate. But once you've warned him, then you can claim, at the least, that he's harassing you.

tell him bluntly that u don't like him being so close and u r feeling un comfortable. if he don't listen to u u can complain to the authorities( like u said) i don't know whats ur age.
if both u and that kid are in school, u can tell the principal or school councillor.

I wouldnt report him but be mature and tell him that you dont like it and if he keeps doing it then report it... but if you dont tell him how you feel and how its makes you uncomfortable then he will never know!

You need to tell the kid, that you don't want him to hold you like that, and please keep his hands off of you. Tell him, it is alright to talk, but not to touch. He sounds like he doesn't have any friends and is clinging to you. Talk to him first, before you do anything more.
