How long will PS3 be a top counsel on the market? i want to buy one, but how many years do you think it will have in it before it becomes outdated?

I would say about 7 year at the minimum. Of course you have to think that the ps3 is built to last for a very long time and have everything everyone wants in a console. It plays your old school games, keep you in touch with friends and family. Plays your movies and it hard to say the next gen console is going to be nutz when you see what the sony franchise has done from the ps1 to now. But I think that microsoft will try one more time to make a successful console and I think the wii is the best nintendo is going to offer.

ps2 has been out for
well a very long time
sure i have games from like 2000
and they'll still make ps2 games for a while
sure like ps2 has been/will be on the market longer than the ps1 and the ps3 will probably follow suit, but i probably should mention that i reckon it will have a re-release in the form of maybe a more slimline and/or quieter console, as the ps1 and ps2 did

lets see its 2007 the average life span of a system is 6 or 7 years so I say 2013

it will be "outdated" when they make a PS4 or whatever new system. that won't be for maybe 5 or 6 years. probably more if you consider the gap between PS2 and PS3.

7-10 years until something better comes along, and probably 15 years or so when the technology is replaced by superior tech.

Probably till 2017.sony always said there systems have a 10 year life span.
