Yes sister. Of course we can.

Ignore these ignorant people sister. It is a perfectly acceptable question. You are young and who knows the answers to everything without asking questions? No one. Good for you for at least being honest and Insha Allah not knowing having the courage to ask without worry of ridicule and prejudice. Peace to you :)

I'm not a girl but I do have female friends in ''Jordan'' and ''Saudi Arabia'' So I asked them the same question you had asked us and my friends out there told me most girls in Islam do shave their legs. But I say shaved or not shaved always be respectful to the ladies in Islam or anywhere else.

Yes of course. In fact Muslims are encouraged to shave their hair from their legs, underarms and vagina every 40 days so we are clean. Muslim men also have to shave every 40 days as well.

As long as nobody will see them and attract him, you can shave them. We are only not allowed to shave the areas where if we shave, we will become more attractive (like eyebrows for example).

Peace

Dear

Well, it is permitted for the girls and women to shave their legs in Islam but on certain conditions. Please read the following text.

Your question has got reference back to the period of Hazrat Sulaiman alaihisalaam (King Solomon) when he invited Queen Saba (Balqees) to his palace and Read the following verse of Quran:

44. She was asked to enter the lofty Palace: but when she saw it, she thought it was a lake of water, and she (tucked up her skirts), uncovering her legs. He said: "This is but a palace paved smooth with slabs of glass." She said: "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul: I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."

I read in another book that Hazrat Sulaiman prescribed the ointment to remove the hairs on her legs.

Well, the religion is Islam for every Holy Prophet of God Allah. In Islam while it is prohibited for the women to show off their legs publicly, they need to cover upto their feet. It is advisable for every wife to decorate her body and dress in ways to atract their legal husbands and make them happy.

I believe you can. As long as it's not to show them off to anybody except your husband, it's fine. I've never read anything in the Qur'an that was against shaving of legs.

Removal of the hair from the eyebrows; is not permissible..

A woman removing facial hair and hair from the legs and arms

Question:

What is "an-nams"? And is it permissible for a woman to remove facial hair and the hair from her legs and arms if such hair causes the aversion of her husband?

Response:

All praise is due to Allaah alone, and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon His Messenger and his family and his companions. To proceed:

"an-nams" is the removal of the hair from the eyebrows;
And this is not permissible since the Messenger of Allaah (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) cursed the one who removed the hair from the eyebrows as well as the one who allowed such hair to be removed.

It is (however) permissible for a woman to remove facial hair as well as the hair from her legs and arms.

And with Allaah lies all success and may Allaah send prayers and salutations upon our Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) and his family and his companions.
