Is there anything other than covering it to fix it?

What color is the carpet? I have a cream colored carpet and I had to use teabags to darked the bleach spot that my daughter made. Or you can have it fixed professionally. They'll cut out the spot and add in a new piece.

OOPS! There is a way if you have a small place you can get a piece of the carpet and cut it out or if you have a sample/ Go to DIY website and look it up on there. I was a manager of an apartment complex and have seen it all. You cut out the area that is bleached, in a square or the least that you can in a square to rectangle shape. Then take the piece of scrap or the area that you can take up without it being seen and cut it out the same as the piece you cut out, make sure to just use that piece as your guide. Then get something they call carpet adhesive, they sell it at Lowe's, Home Depot or any carpet place. Take the piece and put the adhesive on as directed and place the carpet piece into the area that is cut out. Let it dry and adhere for at least 24 hrs. Then tale a hard brush, wire or something very hard and brush the area so that it looks like it blends in with the rest of the carpet. If it's plush it's easier to do than if it's a smooth carpet. There is always trying to dye it. If you find the color that matches closely...then use maybe a tea solution to darken it some if it's older and it's darker than the color you can get it dyed to. Good luck. You can hire them but it will cost more and you can do it yourself really.

I have three bleach spots on my carpet and my carpet is a light tan. I've looked into resolutions for this problem and the best answer I've gotten so far is to have someone come out and dye the carpet to try to match the rest of it. If that doesn't work, I will have to either have someone try to patch it (very difficult to do and have it look seamless), or replace it in that room or a portion of it in that room, depending on how the carpet is layed and where the bleach spot is. I plan on getting my dyed when I have the money because based on my research, that is the most highly recommended solution.

Good luck!

miss mar s advice about patching is good..
with reguards to dying you can try it but most dyes won`t dye a bleached area very well,so you would probably still notice it
.if your carpet is a square or oblong would the stained area be less visible if you turned it.

Cry a lot.
Then buy an area rug.
The change is permanent.
