Remember, that unless you are of American Indian descent, your ancestors had to make that very difficult decision to uproot their family and move to a different place.
It is just amazing to me that in America, the land of immigrants that people are so judgemental. You may not feel like an immigrant because you were born here, but your ancestors were immigrants just like the people in this question.
Yes, the parents knew it was illegal. They were obviously desperate, but not stupid. Knowing what they'd be facing in the United States -- legal action, possible deportation -- they had to be in truly dire straits to attempt to sneak into this country with a little baby. It had to be that bad where they were. Most likely if they hadn't done it, none of them, and most certainly not the little baby, would be here today.
It pains me that so many people that have answered this question had unequivocably judged the parents as idiots and inconsiderate criminals, without even wondering what awful circumstances caused them to attempt such a dangerous move.
Think about it -- say your neighborhood suddenly became so dangerous, that you couldn't even leave your house for fear of being shot to death. Your neighbors have been murdered, and you are scared to even work, for fear that you will be killed and the rest of your family tortured. Only say that it's not just your neighborhood...it's your whole country. And you have a new baby on top of all of this -- that's depending on your for its very life! Of course you'll do something desperate.
Don't judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Why don't I hear such indignation about top American executives pillaging their company's retirement funds to add to their own wallets? That's criminal, and it's for greed. But to risk it all to make a better, safer like for their families? Not for us to judge.

I believe you should be allowed to stay...once your parents, who broke the law, are sent back to their home country...once they deport all the illegals who came here knowing what they were doing was illegal, we can talk about helping out their illegal children that had no choice and no idea they broke the law. But this cant happen until the ones who broke the law are gone...no exceptions until the problem is addressed.

I would really be upset with my parents for doing that to me and go about finding out how I could become legal, legally. If that meant going back to my home country then I would do that, realizing that an illegal criminal alien in the US of a can go no further in life than washing dishes.

We have immigration procedures in the United States of America, which have to be followed, if immigration personal has found out about you then their only recourse is to follow the rules and regulations that apply to the circumstances. You will have to do what they say to do. It's unfortunate for you that your parents did this to you.(hypothetically)

I'd be pissed at my parents and would consider telling them to hire an immigration attorney to sort things out. Glad I don't have parents like that.

Did you mean "Hypothetically"? Or "How-pathetic. Leave!?"
Okay. What would happen if they'd smuggled you into:
Japan
Germany
China
Mexico
Switzerland (the Swiss can vote as citizens to rescind improper citizenship)
Singapore
Ethiopia
Mexico
Saudi Arabia
Mexico
Korea
Zimbabwe
Mexico
Well?

I'm sorry to tell you that this question won't be answered correctly specially by those people that don't even know how to LOVE and HONOR their parents...so you'll get lots of hate answers but there's always a right way to do things and blaming your parents won't do any good, if you Love God He Will Show the way by means of the Holy Spirit and Divine Wisdom. I'll Relay on God, everyone should!!!

Couldn't be that you're trying to conjure up some sympathy for illegal aliens could it? My heart bleeds. Of course you're overlooking the cold hard fact that few, if any, of the 3-million illegal aliens in this nation don't come anywhere near meeting the sob story you outlined.

"Hypothetically"...you'd be deported and wouldn't be on here posting.
If you aren't an anchor baby you are illegal. Immigration catches you and you go back to your country of origin.
