Car washes and yard sales. Also, you can have a "Poor Man's Supper", which is Pinto Beans, Coleslaw and Cornbread. You can do this in your school cafeteria. Post signs around town, and make flyers to hand out advertising it.

How about an online student / club newspaper? You will be providing another community service at the same time. You can get local businesses to advertise on your site - most local business owners are happy support students, especially community service clubs. Plus, it would not be the same old selling candy gig that everyone else does.
My company provides this service to schools - it is all web based so your club members can publish their articles and such from anywhere they have a computer (if you can use Y!A , you can do this). It is very affordable. We can also help you get some national advertising on your paper.
Plus, it is not a one time thing... you can establish a permanent fundraiser that can go on year after year. Send an email if you want more info or check the links below.
The idea about the drive-in movie is a good one - also unique. People (students, parents, everybody) get tired of the same candybar sales, wrapping paper, etc.
Another one, although a food product that I have seen folks do really well with is selling oranges. Seems a strange thing but it seems to work.

hey you know how the seniors at our school are doing a drvie-in? That would be a really good fundraiser. Not only are the people satisified, but its fun to run and all you need is a good movie, some popcorn and soda stands and chairs!!! [unless they bring their own cars. You can make a lot of good money off a this.

You can do something useful, like raking people's leaves, and get other people to sponsor you. Call it a rake-a-thon, and have people pay you a certain amount for every yard you rake - or for how many square feet of leaves you rake, etc. Lots of community service activities can turn into "a-thons."
Another idea is to have people donate items, and then do a silent auction. Theme gift baskets also make good auction items, especially during the holiday season. You could even do a slave auction. People bid on you, and then you have to work for them for a day.

have a cook out around a busniess that is very busy like walmart, put up signs and you will make lots of money, post what you are going to be doing with the money and serve good food off the grill and it will work I promise. We do this every year and raise a lot of money, tenderloin sandwichs work great around here.
