i mean we ask questions to athiest that open up the floor for them to blaspheme & mock God.when its obvious they really dont have or even want to have a clue about Jesus. Therefore becuase we know better does not give us the right to post questions to unbelivers &shake our heads and suck our teeth or even have the audacity to be offended when we already know what kind of answers these questions pose.
Case in point when you ask a question and put athiest on the main title they all gather to the question so they can make each other feel supported by the number of thumb up they give each other..that gives them validity..they use science and every other rightfully given free will to deny the existence of God. when Christians pose a question that we know is right we dont have to confirm it because we know no YA can cofirm or sway us from what we belive
My point is to be careful Christians & ask your self about motive when you pose antiatheist question lets get off our high horses & pray!

I think this is a very good point for everyone to consider. Are you posting provoking questions simply to piss off the people with an opposing viewpoint and start arguments? Are you using it as an excuse to be nasty and belittling to others? If so, then you are making yourself and your opinions look stupid. If you are truly trying to spread a message, baiting and then attacking them is not going to win many over.

I am not a Christian, but I think it is good to keep asking the other "side" questions.
I have no problem with being challenged on topics such as religion. I think problems arise when people don't know how to debate a topic without getting really angry or harsh.
If you really believe in something, and you want to challenge others beliefs in a non threatening or accusatory way, then all the power to you.

Also, I want to point out two posts of interest on this page.
One is by pangloss....
the other by huffyb.
I think they raise some good points.

You do have a point, "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word they have spoken." Matt 12:36

But on the other hand posting questions to atheists including factual information promoting Jesus as Lord, and giving evidence for the Bible can be useful, although there are more effective methods of reaching them.

So I don't really know if the whole idea of doing that is good or not, all I know is we have to be doing our part to reach people for Christ and let Him deal with others.

I think it is not so much the questions we ask, as the answers we give that need to be watched. While I agree that one needs to search their heart to make sure they are asking the question for the right reason, I think that we are sometimes quite unGodly in our answers.

There is no point in answering some of the absolute nonsense posted on here, so why do some bother. It is obvious they are just trying to get a reaction, and we sink to that level.

Thank you for bringing up a good point, and, I pray, for getting some people to think a little more.

God bless

I hate to point out your hypocrisy, but that entire post was you on your high-horse. I am a Christian and our responsibility is to tell others about Christ. PERIOD!

The bible doesn't say, cram it down their throats. The bible doesn't say, shame them for not being in agreement. The bible does not say, humiliate them for their own beliefs or lack of beliefs.

The Bible clearly states that when we share the good news and there are non-believers, we are to shake the dirt from our feet as we leave. THAT my dear, means that we don't bash people.

If you were not threatened by atheists, it would not bother you that they gather around each other for confirmation. In fact, isn't that exactly what church is? A gathering of people to be in fellowship with each other?

You my friend, are the reason Christians have a bad name. Believe what you will, share the good news, and shake your feet as you leave the city.

I am a Christian and if people want to hear about what I am, they will ask or God will lead the conversation in that direction. I am not a sales person for God. He doesn't need a sales pitch.

Take two minutes and sit quietly. FEEL the truth about what your motive was in this post. If you have the ability to be even partially honest with yourself, you will find that you feel pretty darn good about it don't you? That feeling you have? That is self-righteousness.

I agree. Many Christians pose questions toward atheists in an attempt to mock or scoff at their lack of belief. There is no point to this behavior. As well, I have seen many so called christians display severe ignorance about the very topics that atheists use to support their denial of God. Once you have the facts and truely wish to open ligit discussion that is one thing...but this oneupmanship is simply a stupid waste of time. They cannot be convinced with scripture, they cannot be convinced with prophecy or current world events or any evidence proffered or even the debunking of their own scientific theory so simply put..why waste time bantering back and forth with these people at all? Ignorning them leaves them without a forum...notice how they don't spend this time at their own websites...they have no desire to discuss atheism with each other...where is the fun in that? So you are absolutely correct...Love in Christ, ~J~

I know this has never been mentioned on R&S, but let me be the first to point out....
it's spelled atheist.
And many atheists not only "have a clue" about Jesus, they believe the historical figure Jesus did exist and teach at one time. Check out all the Buddhist books on the similarites of Jesus and Buddha.
Seems to me you may not "have a clue" about atheists.

A round of applause and a free quad shot espresso to Think. Her name suits her well.

Saint Paul said, "If my falsehood enhances God's truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?" (Rom 3:5-8)

Jeremiah 6:13 (NIV) "From the least to the greatest, ALL are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, ALL practice deceit."

You have a point--questions from bigoted judgmental Christians are an easy target--however you should bear in mind that most atheists were formally theists who found the egotism & tribalism of organized religion was a real barrier to universal truths--which is why they reject all invented & separate God/s.

Yes, we should be extremely careful They should not know the truth about the Bible contradictions, severe defects and time to time changes in new versions according to our whims.
Let us read our inspired Bible in dark, secluded place or under some bunkers. First you should reject any defects and contradiction and say every word is inspired. If persists then say there is some defect but it is due to translation meaning is same. Then you say there are defects but Bible is not for all those things. Then you say first you should believe in Bible and you should be "born again" to know it. Lastly you should ignore Sat ans. Believe it blindly. Every word of it is inspired. All versions KJV, RCV, NIV..... are same. Do this "Bible Drill" rigorously. We are always right.. they are always wrong.
