No, humans will never do this. The best people can do is to play tricks with God's reproductive designs to produce in vitro fertilization, host mothers, clones, etc.
We will never come close to making even a single living cell out of chemicals. In fact, we can't even produce a novel species after zapping fruit flies with radiation for decades, though we've made countless mutant fruitflies. Life is far more complex than we dream of in our philosophies, or in our science fiction.
On the other hand, I have no problem imagining that God, who created the universe from nothing, can reassemble us in a perfected, resurrected body in heaven.
Cheers,
Bruce

The things on star trek, are fiction. I don't think that most of the stuff on there is scientifically possible. Don't get me wrong, I am a star trek fan, but not a fanatic. I know that inventors have gotten some of today's technology ideas from star trek, such as the flip, cell phone, made to resemble the communicator. But as far as being able to replicate things by rearranging molecules, I doubt it. But I do think that technology will bring us quite a bit of things that we can only imagine right now.

It is easier to believe in the possibility of a true magician doing the same than it is to believe that humanity's control over the physical universe using machines or technology.
Considering a species which cannot handle it's own waste and properly distribute the current resources, it is foolish to believe that technical advances will proceed unhampered. We are more likely to create the artificial life form which destroys us than creating a replicator or transporter.
Knowledge is not wisdom.

One thing that I have been fascinated to observe is how much modern technology is based off of Star Trek technology--Medical scanners, cellphones, body-scans, composite metals. Sometimes, the inventors of these things are Trek fans who wanted to make the technology exist.
I agree with one of the other commenters--I think we will one day have transporters and replicators, but they won't work precisely the same way they do on Star Trek.

Whether or not we find it hard to believe, it can still happen. In 1700, who would have found it easy to think mankind would be flying within the next 200 years? Submarines, space flight, vaccines for most common ailments. All fiction and high fantasy at one time, now realities.

Will never happen, I so often wonder why no one sees the ancient technology.Crystal skulls, successful Brain surgery we can not do today.I could go on for hours. We are only allowed to go so far,and we get destroyed and start all over again. I
think this is the "REAL" meaning of the tower of Babel, when
man tries to reach God it is over.

It won't work exactly like that. It will be more like shifting us through space/time in our entire selves. Won't be dissembling us completely and reassembling. Has already been done with subatomic particles (photons) so it is definitely possible. Quantum physics basically says anything that can occur, must occur. So we know it can occur, so it is only a matter of time before it comes to be.

I hope not. I don't believe we are capable of doing that. If we are, it is honestly scary to think about what some people would do.
