I am considering buying an LCD tv. The Philips brand is atleast 30 % cheaper than Samsung or Sony. The clarity seems quite similar. I am thinking of going with Philips, is there any flaws in comparison??

yes it does. they're HDTV's, they all have good "clarity". they all have different features, inputs, resolution, contrast ratio, refresh rate, etc. and let me tell you, the Vizio you buy at wal mart dont compare to top of the line sony's in any category and they are both LCD HDTV's. But to be fair there is not going to be much difference between the top manufactures you mentioned at similar price ranges.

There is usually a reason why TV's are hceap they are either about to be discontinued or are of poor quality. Cheaper quality also means short life span. If you can afford the better quality go for it.

Whenyour talking all big company names I doubt it matters except for your thoughts. If your happy with a cheaper brand, which can frequently be better, than go for it. I have a Phillips and love it. Gonna get another too.
