Yamas and Niyamas are the first two steps in the 8 fold yoga sutra..

If you can atleast follow these then you will know what hinduism offers.

Hindu"Ism" is a misnomer--the word Hindu (Sindu) was given by Arabs.They substitute"S" sound with"H".Sanatahana Dharmam=Religion being practised from time immemorial is the right word.It offers "meaning ful' clues for the Present Life(Sen cha may) and for the Lifes to be followed,IF AND WHEN NECESSARY!!(Mayas cha may).(1) It teaches "have mountain like un-shakable(Achalaam) faith(Sraddhaam) in GOD(Eeswara),-"God is ONE and Only ONE-there is no Second(God)this is Reality"(Eka Eva Brahmam Satyam)--it offers Absolute freedom to Devotee to Conceptualise the GOD in any form(Roopam) or Formless(Aroopam)with any Name(Naamam) or Nameless(Anomica)--No other so called "Organised"(?!!!!) Religion(s) offers this Freedom.Even if One worships GOD by any other name,(Yap Anya Devatha Bhakthaahaa)calling it as different religion,that also Sanaathana Dharmam encourages(Aham Vidhadhaami)--This religion does NOT say "I am the only way"-every path is acceptable,but only devotion to God is very essential (Sraddhayarchitum icchathi)-the verse starts with Akaasath pathitham Tyam-----).How to lead aGood,samaritan,Peaceful, serene,Poised meaningful life --enormous Litreature(Rg-Yajur-Saaman_Atharva Vedam) is available.

I'm not a Hindu so I might be wrong but it is the goal to live this life as well as they can so that their next life can be spent in a better situation.

It offers the freedom to choose the path that best suits each individual and supossedly it shouldnt judge any particular path.

It offers the freedom to just be. No need to please anyone. Just live a good life and be happy.
