No. Although "spirit" implies "soul", soul does not imply spirit. Soul is essentially the seat of the will, the mechanism of ego, etc. It is the non-corporeal aspect of corporeal human existence. Spirit is something more transcendent - of both time and physical constraints. It perceives the self as object; it gives perspective and imparts significance to the otherwise meaningless flow of events. Spirit is the aspect of humanity that touches eternity.
Peace to you.

I think they are separate. I believe the spirit we have can be broken, just like that of an animal. Life's bitter path leaves a lot of us with broken spirits. It's still there, but not vibrant.
The soul in my experience, cannot be broken. It seems the more bitter the path, the stronger the soul.

The conceptions of "soul" and "spirit" are both faulty according to Buddhism. What exists is an ever-changing, non-substantial, impermanent "stream of consciousness", conventionally labelled the "I".

They are different.
The soul is related to the body (eg. mental illnesses). Animals have souls.
The spirit is supernatural, it distinguishes between good and evil. Animals don't have spirits.
