The Bible is a collection of writings by various people that was compiled by Christ's Church the Catholic Church in the late fourth and early fifth century. We can know of its veracity because the Bible teaches that the Church is the Bulwark and ground of the truth. We also know that Christ gave the authority to the Church to bind those things on earth and declare certain things Holy. It is through this authority and no other that we ca be assured that the Bible is the Word of God.

Excellent question, and reasonable.
Here are some reasons to trust the bible:
1. Historical soundness.
2. Candor and honesty.
3. Internal harmony.
4. Scientific accuracy.
5. Fulfilled prophecy.

The Bible reveals GOD and the reason why MAN..... Needs a Savior....Because of his sin and disobedience to GOD!
IT promises Eternal Life to those that Accept God's Provision for SIN.....Through the Finished Work of Christ Jesus.
IT also promises.... Eternal Damnation in the Lake of FIRE..... for All those that Oppose GOD!
(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man.
(Ecc 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.
Thanks for Asking ! RR

Because Jesus Christ died for those who believe. This is what he did:
The Greatest Love Song
Do You Know Jesus
By Mike McCracken
(chorus)
Do you know Jesus?
And how He loves us
How He died just to save us
Just because, He loves us
Judas betrayed Him
Who once was His friend
They beat, flogged and scourged Him
To where He didn’t look human
A crown of thorns on His head
Just another place where He bled
Humiliated in every way
Why, they even tore His clothes away
And there wasn’t any time loss
To where, they made Him carry the cross
To drive nails through His hands
He’s more than just a man
And Jesus still loved them
After all they did to Him
He did this for us too
When He said, “Father forgive them,
for they know not what they do.”
Jesus said that there is no greater love that a man can give than that he lay down his life for another. Jesus did this for all those who believe. I wrote this out of the Bible so everyone will know how great God’s love is.

Believing is one thing, truth is another, the vary fact that our lives are based on one single book, simply makes me shudder at the fact that a book could rule the world and control mankind like a heard of sheep, there simply is no logic to it, what the hell ever happened to common sense and intelligence, I'm a catholic but there are a lot of things in the bible that are simply nonsense, for years we were told not to read the bible, but after reading it confusion set in for many catholics to this day.

Maybe one does not believe in the things claim to be answer to life in Bible because one have not gone through them before hence one could feel it. But the teaching in Bible could definitely help to improve one life spiritually or achieve inner peace.

This is for the average person. It's the only thing that makes sense in how to treat our brothers and sisters and how to live a productive life with meaning.

Well, you shouldn't just believe it because I or anyone else says it's true. That would be foolish. However, if you're sincere in your desire to know whether it is or isnt' (I suspect you are) then you should ask God to reveal Himself to you through His Holy Spirit as you examine the Bible. If you seek Him honestly, you will find Him. He desires to welcome you into the family. Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks...will you answer? God bless.

I think there was a time where you could look at Christians and they would keep their heads up and act like somebody an Atheist might want to be(giving a reason to believe the bible) Now very few Christians seem to want to be that.

How about never being wrong on the hundreds of predictions the Bible made, for starters.
