The reason I say this I have never been able to to drive and I hate the fact of having to ask someone all the time to take me some where.

i had poor seizure control while on depakote so i was unable to get my license until i was 20 (at that time i was stable on lamictal) i hated taking the bus and asking people for rides, i know how you feel. have you tried other medications?

The law states, in CA, that if a person has not had a seizure in two years, has meds that control all seizures, the person can drive. The doctor would need to verify that.

There are medications that control epilepsy. If you are on any of these drugs for it, your doctor has to give you clearance to drive. There is a drug that can stop seizures as long as you take this drug. With that, your doctor can give you the clearance to drive.

I have a friend with epilepsy that drives. But she only has seizures when she cannot achieve REM sleep.

In our state you cannot get a driver's license until you are seizure free for six months. Unfortunately, many applicants with a seizure disorder are not entirely honest about this.

i knew someone that did he also didnt have a drivers licence because his epilepsy was bad enough that the state said he couldnt drive but he still did
i called the cops once to report that he was still driving everyday and they acually said they couldn't do anything about it unless he hurt someone
