I thought that was discarded when Ralph Reed was caught up in the Abramoff scandal, then the Ted Haggards and Larry Craigs.

It was a lightning rod in 1992 that didn't work, but they regrouped for the 1994 sweep of congress. It backfired on them when their own voters let them know they didn't want government meddling in family affairs.

That's the thing - family values are very subjective. It all depends of what you think children should be exposed to. Christians and atheists alike can have good family values. There is no objective way to be a good parent, it depends on the individual.

For example, I believe having two homosexual parents raise a child is perfectly fine. But some Christians may disagree, saying that those are "bad family values."

Family values. Hmm. It is a term to say that you are taught what is appropriate and not appropriate. I think it is in question so much because family does not really exist anymore, let alone values. One of the commandments is to Honor thy father and mother. Kids do not do that anymore. Values are in place as a way of teaching children right from wrong. So when they grow up they are more likely to have morals and think of other's feelings. Look at the world. People do not talk to people they just meet as tho they are old friends anymore, they do not smile at a complete stranger for no good reason. They do not help the old man with his groceries. These are all a form of family values. It is how we are or are not brought up. It is not even specifically in one religion or another, it is just more noticeable in Christians because we are called to act in love. So, no it is not brainwashing. The verse (Luke 14:26)that is referenced int his QA often is in regards to following Christ, not in a literal sense. To hate your father, mother etc.. it is that you must be willing to sacrifice all relationships for Christ. I do not agree with it pertaining to this question at all.

Family value is each and everybody of the family members play their roles such as
Parent should love their children and take of the welfare of their children.
children should respect and love their parents by being a well mannered, help parents to clean the house and do their homework.
By doing so then, we could talk about harmony at home otherwise we will see more and problem in the society.

I disagree with the brainwashing angle; you're generalizing a whole lot of people with that statement.
For me, family values are concepts and principles that support the family unit as outlined in the Scriptures. Anything that weakens this family unit would not be considered a family value to me.

Wow, now using the term family values is brainwashing. Do you even see, even a little bit, how idiotic your question sounds?

Anything that sales -- Family values is of a secular source..!!! God the Son Jesus Christ was totally of the opposite orientation....

Luke 14:26 (NIV) Jesus Christ said, "If anyone comes to me and does not HATE his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters--yes, even his own life--he cannot be my disciple."

This is from a Christian point of view....Being decent parents and caring for our kids..knowing where your kids are at all times. bringing them up is such a way, that they become decent human beings,,,have respect for others....and grow into good citizens who contribute something good to the world....Being a parent and not a buddy...Parents setting a good example for their kids,,,,having a good loving relationship with each other and teaching your children spiritual values as well....Attending church with your family....all members going,,not just sending the kids...

What is your proof that this is so?

I am a Christian and have never heard of such a thing.

Is there a link that you can provide showing that this is true?

Do you have something against "family values" and morals?
