I know this might seem like a stupid question but my dog just threw up, is very hot on the forehead, and wont lay down. What's wrong with her?

Dogs can get the flu... you should take her to see a vet. They can give her medication for it if she does have the flu.

There is indeed a form of dog 'flu, called canine parainfluenza - it's a virus that affects the upper respiratory tract (throat and sinuses) though, so your dog is not showing symptoms of this.

Vomiting, fever and restlessness are very generalised signs of illness! They could be caused by anything - there is no one disease that has these symptoms. Most illnesses involving the stomach, or intestines, liver or kidneys have these symptoms.

Clearly your dog is ill. You need to take her to a vet to find out what is wrong and how to treat it. You won't find the answer on here, this is not the place for medical questions.

I'm not sure what is wrong with her, but if she won't lay down that is not a good sign. I would advise you take her to the vet as quick as you can. Not being able to sit or lay down can be a sign of boat, along with excessive panting, vomiting or trying to vomit, whining and pacing. I do believe that dogs get what we may call the "flu", however the not laying down is what worries me. Better to be safe.

Dogs can get sick but its not the same flu that humans get, its a different virus (more like a cold to us)

Take your dog to a vet and they'll give her some meds for it.

Good Luck!

my dog had a stomach flu a few months ago and its was awful. If a dog has diarreah or a cough she should be fine but any sign of not drinking water, vomit, or refusing to stay in one position (i.e. cant get comfy) there could be something wrong.

If she continues to be restless, doesn't lie down, I'd take her to the vet tonight. Sounds like it's possibly serious. If just throwing up once, I' just wait and see. Check her temperature. If it's above 101.5 she has a fever.
