Eczema does flare up more in winter. My daughter always suffers more when the weather changes. Its also like the fact that chapped lips occur more in the colder weather.

in the winter i get a raised red rash on my arms, hands knees and ankles. the doctor said i was allergic to the temperature change from hot to cold and the other way round. i now take anti histamine in the winter and only very rarely have any problems. i do have problems when getting into a hot bath or going swimming etc, but try to get into a lukewarm bath and top it up with hot water while i'm in it, so my body gets used to the temperature gradually. hope this has helped.

There are things going on in his life in the winter that are not there other seasons and he is apparently allergic to them. I used to do that about when school started. Lasted about a month and went away. Dr. said I would outgrown it and I did.
Is he going to winter clothes that have been stored? maybe something there. Pay attention to everything when it starts, and see what has changed in his life. lol

during winter we have the central heating on more and it dries the air out around the house. might be useful to invest in a humidifier or if you cant run to the cost of one try putting glasses of water round the house near the heat source. he should also use emulsifying lotions which can be bought over the counter and try using something like oilatum emollient in his bath. hope it works for him.

It's probably just "prickly heat" rash from the combination of sweating and cold weather. Or it could be dry skin. Use baby lotion on him and it should go away.
