Yes. I am bi-racial. It has nothing to do with race, for me. It is far more complex. No doubt, Mexicans comprise a large portion of illegal aliens in this country but there are illegal aliens here from many other countries. I think the outrage is directed at the criminal activity, the unfairness to US citizens and the middle class (which bears the brunt of the cost but is too busy working hard to keep up with the issues), the cost of supporting these aliens on such a large scale and the loss of employment opportunities with live-able wages (despite what many people try to say are jobs Americans don't want). The same would hold true if we had a large influx of Canadians or any other nationality.

When it comes to illegal immigrants there are more than just a few ways these people are classified as such. With Mexico the closest to the United States, you'll get the largest number, now when it comes to other illegal from other countries, it's our government people not doing their jobs by looking the other way that those people are able to become part of that count. There are so many ways these people are given the red carpet treatment at the expense of all the US tax payers, and without follow-up they are able to become illegal.
Without alot of fanfare from special interest and human rights groups, the problem could be reduced. About 60 years ago there were alot of people coming into the United States with the necessary paper work to be employed at different jobs for a set period of time. This was controlled by State and Federal Government which eliminated the problems we are faced with today.
There are a number of things taking place now that causes outrage, not just because of illegal. Both State and Federal Government offices are listening to different groups demanding their languages be printed on the different information and other matters pertaining to them.
GOD BLESS AMERICA- if it wasn't so wonderful, we wouldn't have these problems, no one would want to come here for their benefits without working for them.

Eleven easy answers...Edited from 10 posted earlier...

1) Canadians are not sneaking into the US and stealing jobs.

2) Canada does not have a corrupt political system.

3) Canadians are not stealing from our health care system.

4) Canada is not a third world country.

5) Canadians are not ripping off US social services.

6) Canada's economy is similar to ours.

7) Canadians are not getting US welfare checks.

8) Canadians are not causing overcrowding in US cities.

9) Canadian gangs are not terrorizing our streets.

10) Canadians don't bring illegal drugs into the US.

11) Canadians come here legally, are usually educated and bring US wages up, not down.

Since a reasonable argument cannot be made in favor of illegals, you play the race card, which has grown so, so old and no longer works.

yes there already is outrage. antis realize illegals come in all colors. its the pros that want to claim it's a racial issue. i bet all the other illegals wish mexicans would keep their mouths shut and not make a public display, because they're getting deported now too. maybe they should start a group illegals against illegals.

You may remember that Canadians were getting fed up with all of the Americans who were avoiding the draft during Vietnam by going to Canada. I am sure feelings would be reversed if Canadians were coming to America illegally in droves.

There are proper ways to enter the country. Anyone who tries to sidestep the rules that are in place for entering the country legally is committing a serious crime and they are endangering their own well being. Since 9/11 it is not in America's best interest to offer immunity to people who illegally cross the boarders and who work and reside secretly in the United States.

More! Everyone would equate "breeding like bunnies" with white folks. White folks would be pulled over by cops and given the eye. Education numbers for whites would be dragged down by the 50% drop-out rate, making all educated white-people furious and insulted at being grouped with losers.

My friends (Americans of Latino descent) are livid that they get compared to this statistically off-the-chart, oddball, subset of voluntary losers and poor-little-me types. The losers only HAPPEN to be from the same part of the world and speak Spanish. That doesn't mean we should group all like them together. Just those who deserve it.

to the extent they cost less to educate because they spoke English, and didn't become the only bilingual kids here because we no longer have education funds to teach our own kids language, that would be a plus. To the extent the impacts, drain on education and health care and benefits we pay into were the same, the outrage would be the same.

It isn't our fault 75% of people who break this law happen to be of a single ethnicity.

WE didn't choose to have them do it.
