Ok, there are a MILLION and one suggestions out there in high end magazines for weddings. I want to see what average people do...did you provide children and out of town guests with gift bags? Did you stock the bathrooms full of special supplies? Please HELP! This wedding is running over budget as is. Are these things expected or extras?

Are you talking about guests in your home? If so no gift bags regardless of the reason they are staying with you. My guest baths are always stocked with everything a guest would need so I don't find that an extra. If guests are staying at my home I do ask what their particular food preferences are for breakfast because we are all together in the morning and I like to make sure I have something that everyone likes within reason. If you are talking about giving gift bags to everyone from out of town regardless of where they are staying, I would say that is an extravagance and highly unusual. Usually the gift favors are those that you offer at the tables at your wedding reception and those are geared to the adults.
