No. Pangloss is right. This is false witness given by people who have an agenda against the Church and the truths it brings to the world.
We venerate Mary. We do respect her and hold her in high regard, apologetically. But we only worship God, in Christ risen.

I used to be a Catholic, though I am now an atheist, so I have some experience not only in America but in other areas of the world and in multiple rites as well. No, Catholics do not, nor have they ever worshiped Mary. It is because of the fact that Protestant understandings of worship are vastly different than Catholic worship. Protestants, for example, view singing as worship, whereas Catholics do not unless it is singing a psalm or canticle from the bible. So man made hymns are not "worship," and so songs to Mary are not worship either any more than songs about Christopher Columbus on Columbus day are worship.
So partially it is a difference in culture. Further, Protestants put God farther away, conceptually, than Catholics do. There also tends to be a less trinitarian element to Protestant worship and more focus on Jesus alone.
Finally, Catholics are worried that Protestants purposefully misinterpret kecharitomene in Luke's Gospel. Protestants do try and soften Luke's words. Luke's words only make sense if Mary was without sin from conception. They only make sense if she was part of the new creation from the beginning. Kecharitomene makes no sense in the softer Protestant forms, particularly in light of early Christian theologies.

They say they don't but , mary is a sinner just like every human being born of this earth ,not perfect and in need of a savior , So what if she was Jesus mother ,she was just being obedient ..How can she pray for us when she is serving the Lord in heaven ? There is nothing scriptural that says she is helping Jesus with prayers . Why say hail Mary , when we should all be saying " Praise the Lord for the great things he has done !"

Pastor Billy says: here is the simpliest answer you'll receive all day, no Catholics do not give Godly worship to Mary...
Trinity is of Catholic origin and Mary is not part of the Holy Trinity that should put an end to this heretical idea projected upon Catholics and Catholicism.
keywords: no Godly worship

How many times do we have to tell you and your kind that we do not worship Mary and the saints?
If what you say were true I would be the first to leave the Catholic Church.
Jesus said, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. – Matthew 7, 1-2 (KJV)
My answer to your question is the same as the other Catholics. In fact, I think you already knew beforehand how we would answer your question. This question has been asked a zillion times in YA.
Why do you say these things about my faith? Oh, I know what you will say, “we don't want you to go to hell; we love you.” That has to be the lamest and dullest excuse in years. Do you really expect us to fall for that line? Catholics do not bash other religions because we know we belong to the true Church. If you are so sure about your beliefs why bash Catholicism? You have already told us a million times what you do not like about our faith. And you have also warned us a million times we will go to hell with those beliefs. So, what really is your reason for attacking our faith again and again? I can only think of two reasons: to validate your own faith which means you are insecure and unsure of your own faith or you just want to bash my faith.
Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and Pentecostals talk as if no case can be made for the Catholic Church. How sure are you that you are right and we are wrong?
If you are so sure about your faith you should not turn your back on this challenge.

You owe it to yourself to accept the challenge because you should be worried about your own salvation not us.

You evidently have no idea of the extent of the heavenly bureaucracy.
They have lines up there that last for eternity.
The value of someone who has direct and immediate access to the Almighty is incalculable.
You'll see, soon enough!
We don't worship Mary. We Catholics adopted her as our spiritual mom, at the foot of the cross, where Jesus gave her to us.

What a bunch of babling non-sense in all the answers, specially OPM's and except Sentinel's. First we have to define worship:
Worship usually refers to specific acts of religious praise, honour, or devotion, typically directed to a supernatural being such as God, a god or goddess. It is the informal term in English for what sociologists of religion call cultus, the body of practices and traditions that correspond to theology.
Religious worship may be performed individually, in informally organized groups, or as part of an organized service with a designated leader (as in a church, synagogue, temple, or mosque). In its older sense in the English language of worthiness or respect (Anglo-Saxon worthscripe), worship may sometimes refer to actions directed at members of higher social classes (such as lords or monarchs) or to particularly esteemed persons (such as a lover).
Christian worship is shaped by a Judeo-Christian holistic worldview, which incorporates both a ritual and moral component to worship. Provision for specific ritual acts is described, but appropriate action in all spheres of life is also required. In others words, one is invited to honour God by the way you live your life.
So, based on its definition, you can said that Mary is worshiped.
Regardless what the hell matters if she's or she's not?

Catholics are not illiterate or stupid people, they well know the meaning of `Worship` and do not need to be educated by non- Catholics on this, they also know the meaning of honoring, and this is the Catholic attitude to Mary.

No, they ask for Mary's intercession with Jesus because she holds a special place in his heart.
...Holy Mary Mother of God, Pray for us sinners...
That is the key line of the prayer.

The catholic religion most certainly gives Mary much more esteem then she deserves.
She was only a vessel God used to bring his Son into the world. She cannot take away sin. She too had to be covered by the blood of the lamb.
Yet, this false religion believes foolishness like Mary remained a virgin, even after giving birth to Jesus. Yet, the scriptures plainly tell us that Jesus had brothers and sisters by Mary and Joseph.
Many even believe that Mary herself had to be without sin to be able to give birth to the Son of God. Many was righteous, but she was still of the flesh and needed to be born again.
If Mary would have been without sin, she would not have died in the flesh.
Jesus would not have died in the flesh for he was without sin. He was put to death. If he had not have been, he would have lived forever.
So it is important to understand the emphasis the catholic church puts on Mary is contrary to the Word of God.
