My credit reports say that at least one creditor (or former creditor) is still reporting an address at which I have not lived in many years. I think that I should contact this (these) creditor(s) and give them my new address. However, the credit bureau says that they only keep track of which creditor reported which account information, and do not keep track of which creditor reported which address. Aside from contacting every single creditor, which will take too long, especially because I do not have all the telephone numbers, how can I determine which creditor is still using my old address, i.e., which creditor does not yet have my new address?

To Ask M: I tried that already. They said that applies only to information about my credit, not to address information, and that address information is kept without verification.

Don't waste your time. You address has nothing to do with your credit. They should have most of your previous addresses anyway.

Only worry when an address you've never lived at shows up. That could be someone trying to steal your ID or just an input error.

you dispute it with the credit bureaus first, if they can't contact
the debtor, then it gets removed. If they contact the creditor
they will update your report with the creditors address and phone number and then you write them a request for validation
