That I could live a happy and blessed life as an openly gay man and a Christian both. That my love for both God and my spouse would be short-lived because of my gayness.

Happy to say they were wrong.

People doubted that I would ever like, or especially have, kids. I was known as the girl who really didn't like kids. Admittedly, they did drive me a bit nuts in high school.

I realized my problem was not with the kids, but with the parents who let them get away with their tantrums, selfish behavior, and refusal to learn anything new because "they're just expressing themselves."

I love kids now. I nanny part time, and am going into theatre education. I plan to have three of my own, and I plan to do my best to make them into children people can actually stand!

Yes.
I just recently had to leave my old job. They wouldn't give me my wages or wage slips, and exploited me and in lots of different ways they made it impossible for me to stay.
I threatened them with constructive dismissal if they didn't pay me what they owed me.
They didn't think I'd persevere with it because of my depression, but I did, and they finally agreed to pay me what they owe me, rather than risk going to tribunal, where it is highly likely that I'd be awarded a lot more!
I was very pleased, as I'd prayed that the Lord would give me the strength to see it through, and He did!
It was hard, but He focussed me on my pile of debts that I hadn't been able to pay because they hadn't been paying me my wages. It was money I was entitled to and I had earned it and needed it to pay my bills with.
All I can say is thank God, literally!

That I could graduate college :) on my way, two more years!!

oh yeah, my high school councilor said I wouldn't be able to handle the pressure of college, and that I wouldn't become an Architect. So far she's half right, but I'm well on my path to completing my goal :) I will become an Architect.

I wen't back recently and told her she was wrong and that I was going to be making so much more money than her.

That I could make a loving, monogamous gay relationship (analogous to marriage, in spite of what the country would like to believe) work wonderfully for 11 years, until we were parted by his death from cancer.

A teacher told my mother that I was "too stupid" to get into college (I have a learning disability). So, we sent her copies of all the acceptance letters. ;)
